PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
The exciting Patch Of Theta scrambled home to just beat Sunlight Power in May to ring up a third win from four consecutive C&D runs before having the positions reversed carrying top weight last month. He's the retained ride of Hugh Bowman and a victory could decide the trainers' premiership. Beauty Crescent made it seven minor placings from 15 starts when he was just overhauled after leading 100m out three weeks ago over this C&D. He must be respected. Beauty Fit has been a terrific money spinner this term and was able to build on a distant third in that Sunlight Power race with a win eight days ago. He must be a chance despite a new rider and rise in weight. Giddy Up was unlucky not to have finished closer than fourth last start over this C&D. He cannot be ignored.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
PATCH OF THETA (H485) raced wide and without cover from the 1000M. After the race was reported that the horse to have sustained a small wound to the left hind leg - Race 759.
GOLDEN ARTIE (G434) near the 1100M, after improving to the inside of a runner was then steadied to avoid the heels of that runner - Race 741.
AMAZING VICTORY (G123) post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 748.
PRESTIGE ALWAYS (J300) was fractious in the starting gates, jumped awkwardly and lost considerable ground. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial. After the race was reported that the horse to have sustained a small wound to the right hind leg - Race 756.
GIDDY UP (J020) on jumping was bumped heavily, became unbalanced and lost ground. For some distance near the 450M was held up for clear running. From the 400M until the 250M was held up for clear running. Approaching the 100M was checked and lost its rightful running - Race 810.
CALIFORNIA DEEPLY (G451) shortly after the start shifted in and bumped a runner. Raced wide and without cover until near the 550M - Race 781.
PHANTOM CYCLONE (J271) was bumped after travelling a short distance and became unbalanced. For a short distance near the 100M had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving to the inside of a runner - Race 791.
THRIVING BROTHERS (J396) post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 772.
