PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Three-year-old South Star collared Juneau Pride from better than midfield in April at this level for back-to-back 1,400m wins before following a non-threatening third from midfield to Top Dragon with a never fully tested fifth to Flying Fortress. He must have claims. Beauty Bolt should naturally come on from a handily ridden second behind rival Rising From Ashes on his local debut last month over this trip. Rising From Ashes lived up to a good third over this trip in May with a decision over Beauty Bolt following a rail run travelling midfield last start from gate four. He cannot be ignored despite a rise in weight and gate 13. Riding Together needs to lift on his early season form at this level but does come off a smart win tracking the speed last start wearing visors and should get his chance once again from gate four.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
SUPERB KID (H298) bumped shortly after the start. Near the 300M was shifted out to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with a runner, resulting in the horse becoming slightly unbalanced - Race 744.
GHORGAN (K199) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the event rider reported that the instructions were to take up a forward position. He added these instructions were similar to those issued at its previous start - Race 777.
RISING FROM ASHES (G209) near the 1100M was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced - Race 797.
SOUTH STAR (K153) between the 450M and the 250M was held up for clear running. Over the final 50M could not be fully ridden out to the finish when held up - Race 777.
BEAUTY BOLT (K491) bumped on jumping - Race 797.
FLASH CURRENT (J500) near the 750M made contact with the running rail. Held up making the Home Turn. Between the 400M and the 300M had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind a runner. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 776.
SKY VINO (K054) in the early stages raced keenly and near the 1300M was steadied - Race 715.
STELLAR SWIFT (J139) bumped near the 300M. Approaching the 600M contested a position with the 2nd placegetter to the outside of a runner which was commencing to give ground, resulting in the horse and the 2nd placegetter making contact for some distance thereafter and the horse then crowded for room to the inside of the 2nd placegetter. Noted to be making a respiratory noise after the race - Race 785.
MASTER CHAMPION (K266) approaching the 200M was hampered when racing tight - Race 775.
SOLID CAR (K058) shortly after the start raced tight - Race 777.
PANACEA (K256) on jumping was bumped. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For a short distance after the 400M was held up for clear running - Race 777.
TRACKWORK HIGHLIGHT
Sky Vino travelled powefully into second in his latest trial and is clearly still in brilliant nick.
