PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Circuit Jolly has thrown away the race when jumping a marker near the 150m after leading in back-to-back 1,200m runs in restricted company. He has since trialled well without issues wearing blinkers over the straight 1,000m and must have claims if his mind's focused on racing. Polaris is hard to recommend on his overall form but did work home well for a distant fifth behind the smart Fast Network two runs ago when trying today's straight 1,000m and finds himself down in Class Four now. Newcomer Snowthorn is bred for speed and has shown gate speed to win once over the straight 1,000m in Conghua and place in four other trials. Talents Supremo can bob up now and then for a placing over this C&D and has run well to fill the frame in two of three Valley runs this term.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
SUMMIT CHEERS (E221) jumped only fairly. After the event, rider reported that his mount failed to stretch out in the early stages despite his efforts to ride it along. He added that he could not identify anything amiss with the horse. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 137.
POLARIS (J404) made contact with the right side of its barrier on jumping and as a result was slow to begin - Race 230.
GRAND NOVA (J323) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event - Race 234.
RIDING HIGH (J403) after the event, rider reported that his mount lacked concentration and he recommended to connections that his mount would benefit with the addition of blinkers. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 205.
CIRCUIT JOLLY (J506) after the event, rider stated that after holding the lead, when under pressure in the Home Straight his mount jumped a mark on the track near the 170M and from that point responded only fairly to his riding. He added that, in his opinion, his mount might be better suited with the addition of blinkers and racing at Happy Valley. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 167.
LOADED WITH FLUKE (K069) jumped only fairly and then was crowded - Race 182.
SHINY RAPIDASH (J492) shortly after the start was checked when crowded - Race 203.
GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY (K002) near the 850M was checked when crowded - Race 222.
LOVING VIBES (J359) on jumping was steadied when crowded. Near the 200M was steadied - Race 198.
FLYING DRAGON (E360) jumped awkwardly - Race 203.
ENJOY GOLF (J222) after the event, rider could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Performance as compared to its previous starts was considered to be disappointing. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 143.
ALWAYS MY FOLKS (J345) lost its left front plate on the way to the Start, was replated and examined by the vet and passed suitable to race - Race 004.
