PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Foolish Heart has been at the mercy of wide draws in his past three C&D runs following a return to the level of two earlier 1,400m placings off ratings of 59 and 60. He has each-way claims from a better gate. Steps Ahead worked home nicely for second in his first two Sha Tin 1,200m starts before finishing third over this C&D. He will try his best to win and keep Francis Lui's premiership hopes alive. Family Jewel caught the eye when running on a debut fourth to Captain Win on a soft track last month and does have the pedigree to cope over a further 200m. Young Horizon ran on well to finish in the mix three times after an easy C&D win from midfield in March and did have excuses when coming away lame last time out. He won a recent trial and remains a chance.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
STEPS AHEAD (J263) passing the winning post was steadied when crowded - Race 766.
FAMILY JEWEL (J390) crowded on jumping. Approaching the 400M was shifted in to continue into clear running - Race 755.
FOOLISH HEART (J054) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 766.
SMILING COLLECTOR (G128) crowded at the start, bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. Near the 1000M commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied - Race 789.
MIU FA FA (J145) shifted in at the start and was bumped. After the race, rider reported that his mount raced keenly outside the leader and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 716.
WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1100M was steadied to avoid a runner - Race 766.
HOLY POWER (H039) approaching the 1600M got its head up when being steadied when momentarily crowded. Then continued to race keenly for some distance thereafter. Near the 300M was briefly crowded. Bumped at the 150M - Race 744.
GREAT SPIRIT (J155) jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 766.
WINNING TURN (J163) after travelling a short distance was bumped - Race 754.
LINK (J177) jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 760.
YOUNG HORIZON (G272) jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its barrier. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. The next day was reported to be lame in its left front leg. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 716.
