Race Six : (312) - LEI MUK SHUE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 2 PHOENIX LIGHT (G192) A Pouchin From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 YUEN LONG ELITE (J272) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the 200 Metres was checked to avoid PATCH OF TIME when endeavouring to obtain a narrow run to the inside of that horse and as a result made contact with SANTORINI when it shifted in.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 PATCH OF TIME (H483) M Chadwick After the event, M Chadwick reported that he was obliged to make some use of his mount in the early stages to go forward and cross GALE SAGA.
He said with the pace of the event being run slightly inside of standard time in the middle stages, PATCH OF TIME then did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 SOLID WIN (J225) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 SANTORINI (J076) K Teetan Approaching the 200 Metres YUEN LONG ELITE (Z Purton) endeavoured to improve into a tight run between SANTORINI and PATCH OF TIME where, in the opinion of the Stewards, there was not sufficient room.
As a result, YUEN LONG ELITE was then checked to avoid PATCH OF TIME when that runner shifted in slightly whilst it was giving ground.
As a consequence, YUEN LONG ELITE made contact with SANTORINI which became unbalanced.
Z Purton was advised to exercise more care and to ensure that there is sufficient room when improving into runs.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 MR JUSTICE (K072) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was bumped by GALE SAGA.
In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid NOBLE FANS.
When under pressure in the Home Straight hung in and for some distance after the 400 Metres was reluctant to shift to the outside of PHOENIX LIGHT.
Horse No 10 ALL ARE MINE (H293) Y L Chung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 11 ORIENTAL SURPRISE (K028) B Thompson A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, ORIENTAL SURPRISE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 14 MR GOOD VIBES (H180) M F Poon From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Solid Win ran on strongly from behind midfield after travelling wide with cover to get up 50m out for a first win at his eighth start. Phoenix Light dashed nicely down the outside for second ridden for luck from gate 13. It was a better performance following a downgrade. Noble Fans ran on well for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was a solid run on debut. Favourite Yuen Long Elite ran on well for fourth after barging his way out for a clear run 200m out settling three from the rear following a tardy start. He keeps finding ways to beat himself. I Am The Boss lost fourth late after getting pestered for the lead 900m out by Patch Of Time. He's not far off a winning run. Perfect Moments stayed on better for sixth after a rails run from midfield. It was an improved run second up this term following a rise in trip. Gale Saga only plodded after a one-out, one-back run. He's found it harder in two outings at this level following a Class Five success in September.
