Firming favourite Bravehearts hit top stride late to claim Winning Dragon in the closing stages and claim a third win from four starts this season for his new trainer Mark Newnham. He is a big improver and can win again. Winning Dragon stayed on nicely for second after moving to the lead 170m out following a one-off trip with cover in third. He did win two runs ago over this trip. Romantic Thor got up in the late stages for third travelling around midfield with cover one off the fence. It was a much better effort with a step up in trip at his second local start. Star Contact kept plugging away to just win a battle for fourth after a prominent run on the fence. It was a run with merit at his first run beyond 1,800m. Money Catcher lost fourth late after getting pestered for the lead 1,300m out by Awesome Fluke. He might be near a rating bottom. Awesome Fluke produced his typical move to go forward around mid-race and gradually faded after going for home on top 1,300m out.

Over the concluding stages was held up behind AWESOME FLUKE and could not be ridden out to the finish.

Horse No 3 ATULLIBIGEAL (G173) B Avdulla Bumped at the start.

Horse No 4 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) A Atzeni After the 1500 Metres commenced to race keenly and was shifted out when being steadied away from WINNING DRAGON.

As a result, AWESOME FLUKE was then allowed to stride forward and race outside the lead.

AWESOME FLUKE then continued to race keenly in the middle stages.

Horse No 5 ROMANTIC THOR (K012) A Pouchin Bumped at the start.

Raced wide and without cover in the early stages and after the 1500 Metres was taken wider by AWESOME FLUKE which shifted out.

ROMANTIC THOR was then able to obtain cover behind WINNING DRAGON near the 1400 Metres.

Lay in under pressure making the Home Turn and in the Home Straight.
