Late-fancied favourite Super Wise Dragon settled midfield on the rails and kept up a strong gallop after hitting the lead 260m out for a first win at his 15th start. Fire Ball stayed on nicely for second after getting caught wide chasing the speed without cover for the early part from gate 14. He did stay on for fourth in one of two other starts this term. So Awesome ran on nicely to just miss the quinella spot after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He had gone OK in one of his first two runs this term. Link made good ground late through the middle for fourth after making his run one from the rear. It was his best performance. Hoss ran on late down the outside to just miss a first four spot after a patient ride third last from a wide draw. Super Glory whacked on one-paced after a prominent run on the fence. He went a shade better with a step up to 1,400m at his second run down in Class Five. Skyey Blue ran on without threatening after making his run five back and one off the fence. Early favourite The Khan was held up for a majority of the straight when trying to improve near the outside settling fourth last from gate 10.

Racing Incident Report

Race One : (202) - CHEVALIER E&M ENGINEERING HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 THE KHAN (H489) H Bowman Near the 500 Metres shifted out and made contact with FLYING ROMANTIC.

After the event, H Bowman reported that his mount raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

He said for some distance near the 300 Metres THE KHAN had difficulty obtaining clear running between SUNNY SHINES and FLYING ROMANTIC but after this finished the race off only fairly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 SKYEY BLUE (J212) C L Chau For a short distance near the 50 Metres C L Chau could not fully test his mount when he momentarily lost control of his whip which was in his left hand.

Horse No 3 HOSS (H055) J McDonald Bumped at the start.

Horse No 4 LINK (J177) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly.

Horse No 5 SUPER GLORY (J025) A Badel Approaching the 350 Metres was disappointed for clear running between BEAU GOSSE and FIRE BALL and was then shifted to the inside of BEAU GOSSE to obtain clear running.

Horse No 7 CHILLI BABA (G339) A Atzeni Slow to begin.

After the event, A Atzeni could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of CHILLI BABA was considered disappointing as compared to its last start.

Before being allowed to race again, CHILLI BABA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 9 OMAKASE (H416) Y L Chung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, OMAKASE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 10 SO AWESOME (D258) C Y Ho Near the 450 Metres was bumped when taken wider by SUPER WISE DRAGON which shifted out to improve.

Horse No 11 FIRE BALL (D087) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 12 HAPPY FEELING (H443) K De Melo Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 13 BEAU GOSSE (G389) M L Yeung Bumped at the start.

Over-raced when positioned outside the lead in the early stages.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
