Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (207) - CHEVALIER LIFTS & ESCALATORS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters
Horse No 2 DEVAS TWELVE (H435) C Y Ho Crowded on jumping.
After the event, C Y Ho reported that near the 170 Metres his mount attempted to jump a mark on the track.
Horse No 3 FLYING LUCK (J339) H Bowman Slow to begin.
Passing the 400 Metres was bumped by GOLDEN DARCI.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 SOLID WIN (J225) A Atzeni Crowded on jumping.
Horse No 5 SATIRICAL GLORY (H073) M F Poon After the event, M F Poon reported that his mount was disadvantaged by the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time and as a consequence did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) J McDonald Crowded shortly after the start.
Horse No 7 MATSU VICTOR (H472) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 SPECIAL HEDGE (H354) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and was bumped heavily.
Horse No 9 GOLDEN DARCI (H470) K Teetan After the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between SATIRICAL GLORY and FLYING LUCK.
In this incident, GOLDEN DARCI shifted out and made contact with FLYING LUCK.
Horse No 11 SMILING EMPEROR (J371) K C Leung Bumped shortly after the start.
After the event, K C Leung reported that his instructions were to endeavour to go forward and lead the event.
He said as a result in the early stages he rode his mount along to comply with the instructions issued.
He added when unable to cross runners to his inside in the early stages SMILING EMPEROR was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result gave ground in the Home Straight.
Trainer K H Ting confirmed the instructions and said such instructions were issued on the basis that the horse had not performed in its previous runs when ridden in a conservative manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have an epiglottic entrapment.
Horse No 12 SOARING BRONCO (J162) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 13 ALP'S AFFECTION (J289) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between SMILING EMPEROR and SOARING BRONCO which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider.
After the event, A Hamelin reported that his mount raced "flat" today and he could offer no explanation for its performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 14 SMASHING EXPRESS (J252) A Badel Shortly after the start was checked when crowded between SMART BEAUTY and JUMBO FORTUNE which was taken in by SPECIAL HEDGE after SPECIAL HEDGE shifted in when making heavy contact with DEVAS TWELVE at the start.
Horse No CALIFORNIA BANNER (J132) Y L Chung Withdrawn on 21.11.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter SPECIAL HEDGE.
Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIA BANNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Matsu Victor was on the rails and better than midfield, before working to the lead 200m out and just holding off Flying Luck at his first ever start over 1,600m. Flying Luck just came up short after making his run five back and one off the fence. He was able to back up a last start win carrying seven pounds more. Jumbo Fortune wove a run late for third without threatening the top pair after a patient ride two from the rear. He keeps promising without delivering. Golden Darci ran on well for fourth after getting bottled up for a run until the 300m travelling behind midfield on the fence. He had no issues with a step up in distance after a close fourth on his seasonal reappearance over 1,200m. Devas Twelve ran on late near the outside to grab fifth after a patient ride second last from gate 12. He rarely produces a bad run over this trip. Favourite Soaring Bronco only plodded when asked for an effort after a one-off trip from midfield. It was a below-par effort after placing third last time out. Solid Win kept on without ever looking a threat after a wide with cover run settling better than midfield from gate 13.
