Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Patch Of Theta had a perfect trip fourth along the fence and waas too good after moving to the lead 250m out to ring up a fifth career win to go along with eight placings from as many outings. Voyage Samurai kept on gamely for second after driving to the lead 1,300m out from gate one. It was another solid effort. Punted late Sunlight Power ran a cracker to get up for third after a wide without cover trip for a majority of the race from behind midfield. He continues to race well in his past three starts after resuming a winner on his seasonal reappearance and can shortly bag another win. Top Gun ran on well for fourth after making his run five back on the fence. It was a good effort, but he tends to mix his form. Fancied late in betting, Green N White ran on steadily to just miss fourth after a rails run from midfield. He was carrying more weight following a last start win. Helene Feeling ran on without threatening after making his run two from the rear. The Best Peach made some ground late from towards the rear. He prefers a longer trip. Karma got too far back in the run at the rear from gate 13.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven : (208) - THE CHEVALIER CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1600Meters

Horse No 1 HEALTHY HAPPY (D435) A Badel Bumped at the start.

After the event, A Badel stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

He said as a result HEALTHY HAPPY did not run out the 1600 Metres of today's race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 GREEN N WHITE (H186) M F Poon Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between YOUNG CHAMPION which shifted in slightly and TELECOM FIGHTERS which was taken out by PATCH OF THETA.

Horse No 3 HELENE FEELING (H215) B Avdulla On jumping was crowded between SUNLIGHT POWER and HEALTHY HAPPY, both of which shifted ground.

Horse No 4 ATULLIBIGEAL (G173) Z Purton Near the 250 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of HELENE FEELING to continue into clear running when HELENE FEELING shifted out.

Horse No 5 OUTGATE (H113) Y L Chung After the event, Y L Chung confirmed his instructions were to hold a forward position.

He said after making some use of his mount to do so it came under pressure in the Home Straight.

He added after being momentarily crowded between HEALTHY HAPPY and PATCH OF THETA near the 300 Metres and then between HEALTHY HAPPY and TOP GUN near the 200 Metres when both runners shifted ground, his mount then continued to yield ground thereafter.

Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 TELECOM FIGHTERS (D482) P N Wong Over-raced in the early and middle stages.

After the event, Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to go forward.

She said TELECOM FIGHTERS jumped only fairly and was then slightly crowded shortly after the start.

She said despite riding it along thereafter TELECOM FIGHTERS did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.

Horse No 7 KARMA (G392) C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 8 PATCH OF THETA (H485) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 YOUNG CHAMPION (J195) K Teetan After the event, K Teetan reported that his mount raced too keenly in the early and middle stages and as a result did not respond strongly to his riding when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 SUNLIGHT POWER (H244) A Hamelin Bumped at the start.

Over the final 200 Metres lay in and proved difficult to ride out to the finish of the event.

Horse No 12 VOYAGE SAMURAI (J026) M L Yeung Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 13 ROMANTIC THOR (K012) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.

Approaching the 250 Metres raced in restricted room between GREEN N WHITE and YOUNG CHAMPION which was taken in slightly by SUNLIGHT POWER.

Horse No 14 TOP GUN (J249) M Chadwick When questioned, M Chadwick stated that his instructions were to ride his mount in a more conservative manner than its last start as TOP GUN had disappointed when it held a forward position on that occasion.

He said in the early stages in accordance with his instructions he rode his mount in a conservative manner but when TELECOM FIGHTERS did not show the expected pace in the early stages, he was obliged to shift in behind that runner to avoid racing wide which resulted in TOP GUN settling slightly further back than what had been anticipated.

Trainer F C Lor confirmed the instructions issued.
