Recap by phillip woo

The consistent Sky Trust crossed from gate 14 to track the speed, moved to the lead 250m out and just scrambled in for a third win from 12 starts. Amazing Victory stayed on a close second after settling one-out, one-back from a wide draw. He was able to build on an unlucky fifth last start. Golden Artie ran on steadily to finish a close third after having to clear traffic for a run near the 100m following a prominent run on the fence. Fallon made ground late near the inside for fourth after a rails run. Lo Pan Spirit gradually faded after driving to the lead along the inside 1,250m out. It was a pleasing effort. Prestige Always had his chance after a one-off trip from midfield but only whacked on one-paced over the last 100m with a step up to 1,600m. Lupo Solitario ran on without threatening down the outside after getting steadied early on travelling one from the rear. It was a run with merit on his local debut. Favourite Armour War Eagle was yielding ground 200m out after being sent forward to sit third wide without cover 1,100m out. He can be forgiven for the run.

Race Ten : (211) - CHEVALIER ALUMINIUM ENGINEERING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters

Horse No 1 CHING (G380) H Bowman After the event, H Bowman reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced in a disappointing manner.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 LUPO SOLITARIO (J495) K C Leung On jumping was crowded between LO PAN SPIRIT and NAMJONG KINGDOM which shifted in and away from CHING.

Raced keenly in the early stages.

Horse No 3 PRESTIGE ALWAYS (J300) J McDonald Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and then was bumped.

After the event, J McDonald stated that his mount responded fairly to his riding in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, is still somewhat immature.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 UNIVERSAL HORIZON (G360) C L Chau Crowded shortly after the start.

Horse No 5 SWEET ENCOUNTER (G426) A Hamelin Jumped awkwardly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 FALLON (H219) M L Yeung Bumped at the start.

Horse No 8 NAMJONG KINGDOM (K015) B Avdulla Shifted in at the start and was bumped.

After the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded between ARMOUR WAR EAGLE and PRESTIGE ALWAYS, both of which shifted ground slightly.

NAMJONG KINGDOM then lay in over the final 100 Metres and proved difficult to ride out.

Horse No 9 SKY TRUST (J161) L Hewitson Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 GOLDEN ARTIE (G434) K Teetan When questioned regarding his riding out over the concluding stages, K Teetan stated that after shifting his mount to the outside of SKY TRUST near the 100 Metres, he then attempted to pull his whip through to his right hand.

He said as he commenced to do so he dropped his left rein for a short distance before regaining it and being able to continue to ride his mount out fully to the finish of the event.

K Teetan was advised that he should, wherever possible, ensure that he maintains proper control of his reins.

Horse No 11 STELLAR SWIFT (J139) A Atzeni Shortly after the start was checked when crowded between FALLON and PRESTIGE ALWAYS which jumped awkwardly and shifted out.

Near the 200 Metres was eased to avoid FALLON when that runner shifted in to obtain clear running.

After the event, A Atzeni reported that the intention was to be more forward but settled further back after being checked at the start.

Horse No 12 AMAZING VICTORY (G123) C Y Ho When questioned, C Y Ho stated that he was instructed to take up a more forward position than its last start as connections were of the opinion that it was advantageous today to race in an on-pace position.

Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions issued.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 13 ARMOUR WAR EAGLE (J039) A Badel When questioned, A Badel stated that the instructions were to endeavour to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages with cover.

He said after travelling a short distance he attempted to restrain his mount to comply with his instructions, however, ARMOUR WAR EAGLE raced keenly and as a result he was unable to obtain cover.

He said when ARMOUR WAR EAGLE continued to race keenly in the early stages he allowed it to stride forward to take up a position outside SKY TRUST, however, his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

He added having regard to the manner in which ARMOUR WAR EAGLE raced in the early stages and the fact that it was obliged to race wide and without cover, it was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.

He further added that, in his opinion, ARMOUR WAR EAGLE would be better suited by being dropped back in distance for its next race start where it would be able to settle on a more genuine pace.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 14 DILBAGH (K055) M Chadwick Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) B Thompson Withdrawn on 23.11.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter DILBAGH.
