Racing Incident Report
Race One : (318) - TSAM CHUK WAN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 COUNTRY DANCER (H436) K Teetan Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between CALIFORNIA ICON and WOODFIRE CHAMP which shifted in slightly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SILVER DESTINY (J096) Z Purton Between the 300 Metres and the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind STERLING WONGCHOY.
Horse No 5 SAME TO YOU (H057) B Avdulla Crowded at the start.
After the event, B Avdulla stated that the only explanation he could offer for the disappointing performance was that SAME TO YOU races best when being able to dictate terms in front.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 WOODFIRE CHAMP (H292) M L Yeung Bumped on the hindquarters at the start.
Horse No 7 STERLING WONGCHOY (H273) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 HOSS (H055) K De Melo Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Bumped approaching the winning post.
Horse No 9 OMAKASE (H416) K H Chan After the event, K H Chan reported that his mount did not show the necessary pace to hold a more forward position and as a result raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
He added that near the 200 Metres his whip broke and as a result he was unable to ride his mount out with the whip from that point.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 MIU FA FA (J145) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly.
Approaching the 900 Metres was eased to avoid STERLING WONGCHOY which shifted in.
MIU FA FA then commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from STERLING WONGCHOY for some distance thereafter.
Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running behind DAY DAY VICTORY.
Horse No 11 WINNING TURN (J163) H T Mo Approaching the winning post shifted out and made contact with HOSS.
Horse No 12 CALIFORNIA ICON (H404) Y L Chung Bumped at the start.
Horse No FLYING ROMANTIC (J057) H Bowman Withdrawn on 3.1.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter MIU FA FA.
Before being allowed to race again, FLYING ROMANTIC will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Favourite Country Dancer was ridden patiently five back and one off the fence before running on with one wider out on straightening to just deny Sterling Wongchoy by a lip for a second win and a second from his past three starts. Sterling Wongchoy wouldn't go down without a fight after moving to the lead 130m out following a prominent run on the fence. Silver Destiny ran on steadily through the middle for third without threatening the top two travelling five back on the fence after a tardy start. Hoss came from last and with two wider out for fourth. He has made good ground late in two of three runs following a downgrade. Winning Turn made inroads late for fifth after making his run one from the rear. It was his best effort from five starts this term. Speedy Fortune was on his tippy toes 100m out after turning the final bend two lengths on top in a lead role from gate four. Woodfire Champ just plodded after a one-off trip from midfield. He's battled under pressure in three consecutive runs after a Valley success in October.
