Horse No 1 BABY CRYSTAL (H081) A Pouchin Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 DREAM WINNER (H308) L Ferraris On jumping was crowded by CANDLELIGHT DINNER which shifted in.
After the event, L Ferraris reported that his mount, which was racing first up from a spell, would derive benefit from today's performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 3 FLYING HIGH (E204) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 RED ELEGANCE (H241) H Bowman Near the 250 Metres was steadied and shifted to the inside of GRAND NOVA to continue into clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 KA YING VICTORY (H287) Z Purton On jumping made contact with the right side of its barrier, blundered and lost ground.
When placed under pressure in the Home Straight raced greenly and over the concluding stages lay in when being shifted to the inside of CANDLELIGHT DINNER to secure clear running.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, KA YING VICTORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 7 FAST RESPONDER (J295) P N Wong Jumped awkwardly and then shortly afterwards was bumped by MIDORI GLORY which shifted out, resulting in FAST RESPONDER becoming unbalanced.
Horse No 9 MIDORI GLORY (J248) A Atzeni Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 10 AURIO (K056) B Thompson Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.
Over the final 100 Metres could not be ridden out when held up for clear running behind RED ELEGANCE.
Horse No 11 SKY CAP (K125) K De Melo After the event, K De Melo reported that he had some concern with his mount's action and as a result he eased it down over the concluding stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 GRAND NOVA (J323) K Teetan Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between FLYING HIGH and DREAM WINNER.
Horse No 13 CELESTIAL HARMONY (K059) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly and then was bumped shortly after the start.

Baby Crystal sat third on the grandstand side from gate 14, hit the lead 250m out and proved much too good for a fifth win and fourth over the straight 1,000m from 23 starts. Red Elegance emerged late to grab second by a neck after biding his time three from the rear. He didn't mind the return to the Sha Tin straight after a win, fourth and sixth from three earlier Valley 1,000m runs this term. Well-backed Golden Luck came from better than midfield for third. It was an encouraging performance. Candlelight Dinner grudgingly gave way after emerging with the lead from gate nine. It was his best performance from four local runs following a gear change. Favourite Ka Ying Victory made some ground to just take fifth travelling behind midfield in the centre of the track after jumping awkwardly. He keeps finding ways to beat himself this term. Grand Nova ran on steadily to just miss fifth prize money after a rails run on the grandstand in midfield. He's just gone OK in two consecutive runs at this level following a win.
