Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (27) - LOK WAH HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 CARROLL STREET (D489) K Teetan Bumped shortly after the start.
After the event, K Teetan stated that CARROLL STREET did not appreciate racing with a top weight of 135 lbs and as a result found it difficult to finish the race off strongly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 FLYING HIGH (E204) L Hewitson When questioned, L Hewitson stated that his instructions were to ensure that he found cover on his mount as FLYING HIGH only has a short sprint when placed under pressure.
He said after initially obtaining cover behind PHOENIX LIGHT, he was reluctant to remain behind that runner as he felt PHOENIX LIGHT is not a horse that would provide him with an opportunity to improve into the event.
He added as a result he continued to shift out towards the stand rail to follow CARROLL STREET as he felt that runner would provide him with a better opportunity to improve into the event.
He said when CARROLL STREET did not quicken as he had anticipated and shifted in slightly near the 400 Metres, he then improved to that runner's outside whereby he was able to place FLYING HIGH under pressure approaching the 300 Metres at which point it commenced to finish the race off well.
Horse No 3 HASTEN DELIGHT (J229) C Y Ho Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 4 MAGIC CONTROL (J333) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 CELESTIAL COLOURS (H362) H Bowman Bumped at the start.
Horse No 6 STELLAR EXPRESS (J186) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 ORIENTAL SMOKE (E467) B Thompson Shortly after the start was crowded and became unbalanced.
Horse No 10 ETERNAL FORTUNE (K010) Y L Chung Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 11 SAVVY BRILLIANT (J437) Z Purton On jumping was checked when crowded between CARROLL STREET and ORIENTAL SMOKE which was taken in by STELLAR EXPRESS.
Passing the 150 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between HASTEN DELIGHT and MIGHTY COMMANDER (M L Yeung) which shifted out under riding.
M L Yeung was advised to exercise more care.
As a result, SAVVY BRILLIANT could not be fully ridden out between the 150 Metres and the 50 Metres.
Horse No 12 MIGHTY COMMANDER (J360) M L Yeung Bumped at the start.
Horse No 14 MULTISUPER (G416) P N Wong As the start was effected lowered its head and as a consequence was slow to begin.
After the event, Apprentice P N Wong confirmed that with her mount losing ground at the start, it was unable to make up any significant ground in the Home Straight which she attributed to the poor start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Magic Control led and kept finding from gate 10 to ring up a first win at his second local run and first for the Cody Mo Wai-kit stable. He lived up to a trial win over the straight 1,000m and there's more to come form him. Favourite Stellar Express kept on gamely for second after chasing the winner on the stand side. He keeps promising without delivering on a win line. Celestial Colours stayed on well for third after chasing the leading pair in the centre of the course from gate three. He lived up to a recent trial win over the straight course. Flying High ran on well to just miss a placing after making his run four from the rear. He is as honest as the day is long over the straight 1,000m. Hasten Delight kept on OK after making his run better than midfield in the centre of the course. Carroll Street could not turn it up another gear after making his run better than midfield on the grandstand side. He could not overcome the big weight.
