Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (22) - WAH FU HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 CIRCUIT BLAZING (H479) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 2 PERFECT PEACH (E488) L Hewitson Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 SO AWESOME (D258) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 5 CERVIN (H253) H Bowman Making the Home Turn made contact with GO HERO as its rider H Bowman endeavoured to prevent GO HERO from shifting out.
After the event, H Bowman reported that his mount travelled a little keenly in the early stages and after being bumped on the Home Turn did not finish the race off strongly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 LUCKY QUALITY (D050) L Ferraris After the event, L Ferraris reported that the intention was to hold a more forward position.
He said after jumping awkwardly his mount failed to show sufficient pace in the early stages to do so and was obliged to settle further back than anticipated.
Horse No 7 BEAU GOSSE (G389) C L Chau When questioned regarding his riding and the reason his mount lead, C L Chau stated that his instructions were, from a wide barrier, to endeavour to settle in a handy position with cover.
He said in the early stages after jumping well, BEAU GOSSE raced keenly and as a result improved to the lead when he was unable to get his mount to relax.
He added after assuming the lead, BEAU GOSSE responded to his efforts to settle approaching the first turn near the 900 Metres.
Horse No 8 CALIFORNIA ICON (H404) Y L Chung Lay out on the Home Turn.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 9 GO HERO (H315) K Teetan Making the Home Turn shifted to the outside of ISLAND GOLDEN to obtain clear running and made contact with CERVIN.
Horse No 12 SOARING TOWER (D500) P N Wong After the event, Apprentice P N Wong stated that the instructions were to go forward and after riding her mount along in the early stages to comply with her instructions, she became concerned with her mount's action in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of SOARING TOWER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, SOARING TOWER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

Charmander just chased down early favourite Perfect Peach after making his run wide towards the rear from a wide draw for a first win at his 24th start. He did put the writing on the wall with a near win over 1,600m in July. Perfect Peach was just denied after poking his head in front 100m out after making his run one off from behind midfield. It was another good effort following a closing day win in July. Island Golden just held on for third after chasing the leader one off the fence from gate 13. He produced a better run following a downgrade. Well-punted late Beau Gosse gradually gave way after dictating a genuine pace from gate 11. It was a return to form for him. Medic Elite ran on without threatening from towards the rear. He should come on for this run. So Awesome made headway late near the inside after making his run one from the rear following a slow start. Go Hero weakened after chasing the leading pair along the inside. He is limited.
