Recap by phillip woo
Family Jewel showed a good turn of foot to claim victory 50m out after biding his time one from the rear following a slow start. Special Hedge found one just too good after surging to the front 150m out after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He ran up to his trial form and does have good 1,600m form. Soaring Bronco stayed on a close third after settling third on the fence. It was his best effort from six starts. Mister Dapper kept on one paced when asked for an effort after a prominent run. He should come on for this run. Midori Burly came up flat over the last 100m after looming a chance 200m out following a rail run from behind midfield. It was a shade better effort. Star Line weakened over the last 150m after setting a solid pace. It was a better effort with the claim well utilised on a run last Sunday. Smart Beauty never got into the act from towards the rear. The combination of a rise in class and lack of fitness took its toll.
