Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (21) - KWONG FUK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 MY FLYING ANGEL (J174) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 SUPER INFINITY (J320) Z Purton When questioned, Z Purton stated that it was not his intention to hold the position outside the lead, but his focus was to ensure SUPER INFINITY began well as it had had a tendency to be slow into stride.
He said after ensuring SUPER INFINITY jumped well today, it settled a little closer in the run than what he had intended.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 JUBILANT WINNER (J346) B Thompson Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 6 SPORTIC WARRIOR (J385) C L Chau As the start was effected became unbalanced and as a result lost ground.
A warning was placed on the barrier manners of the horse.
Horse No 7 ALWAYS FLUKE (H252) C Y Ho Near the 100 Metres was steadied to avoid AFFIRM which shifted out before being corrected by its rider L Ferraris.
Prior to declaring weighed-in, the Stewards viewed the official patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection on behalf of ALWAYS FLUKE, placed 6th, against AFFIRM being declared the 4th placegetter.
As they were satisfied that there were not sufficient grounds, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.
Horse No 8 OMAKASE (H416) K Teetan Shortly after the start was crowded by AFFIRM which shifted in.
Horse No 9 KING OBERON (H407) L Hewitson Held up approaching the 450 Metres.

Horse No 10 AFFIRM (H306) L Ferraris Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 11 URBAN TRIUMPH (H200) M Chadwick Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race.

Odds-on favourite Super Infinity edged clear after poking his head in front 200m out following a one-off trip in between the leading pair. King Oberon dashed well with one wider out for second after making his run two from the rear. He lived up to a second place effort for his new trainer in July and should be winning shortly. Jubilant Winner ran on nicely widest out to make it close for second after biding his time one from the rear. It was a much better performance following a gear change at his second ever start. Punted late Affirm knocked up late after getting pestered early on for the lead to his outside by My Flying Angel. Bulb Emperor nearly got up for fourth after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. He has gone better in his past two starts following a downgrade. Always Fluke produced a grinding effort after a wide with cover trip from better than midfield with late market support.
