Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (814) - TURIN REDSUN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 CITY THUNDER (J173) H Bentley A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, CITY THUNDER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 2 CORDYCEPS ONE (E107) E C W Wong Held up for clear running for some distance after the 500 Metres.
After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his instructions were to endeavour to lead.
He said after his mount jumped only fairly and made contact with DURHAM STAR, he settled further back than what he had been instructed.
Horse No 3 DURHAM STAR (E082) M Chadwick Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
Horse No 4 SOLAR GOGO (H390) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Bumped near the 350 Metres when shifting out.
Lay in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
Horse No 5 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) K C Leung Slow to begin and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the 600 Metres raced wide and without cover when it shifted out to commence a forward move.
After the race, K C Leung stated that after making a move from the 600 Metres his mount did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 GALLANT CROWN (D359) A Atzeni Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping.
Horse No 10 DIVINE SHINING (G373) C Y Ho Shifted out at the start, was bumped and became unbalanced.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners and got its head up in the early stages.
Horse No 11 BRAVE WITNESS (H425) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on BRAVE WITNESS at the request of Trainer C S Shum.
The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, BRAVE WITNESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 12 MATSU VICTOR (H472) Z Purton Near the 350 Metres was bumped and taken wider by SOLAR GOGO which shifted to the outside of ATOMIC BEAUTY to obtain clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Favourite Brave Witness just scrambled home from Matsu Victor after surging to the lead along the inside for a first win at his 12th start. He deserved the victory after seconds in three earlier runs. Late-fancied Matsu Victor ran on well with only one wider out to finish a close second after settling one off the fence in midfield. He is heading in the right direction now. Winning Steps ran on well near the inside to just take third after travelling one off the rail behind midfield. He was able to back up a near win last start over 1,800m. Gallant Crown succumbed late after poking his head in front near the 200m after tracking the speed from gate 12. He is close to a win. Super Baby gradually faded after getting his own way in front from gate three. He is not genuine. Atomic Beauty came up one-paced after a prominent run one off the fence. He was given every chance but has had a lot of racing. Durham Star was a spent force over the final 200m after settling on the rail behind midfield. Specked late, Solar Gogo failed to land a blow after settling in better than midfield.
