Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Smart Beauty wove a run after turning the final bend one off from behind midfield to just edge Diamond Winner by a lip for a fourth win from 18 starts this term. Diamond Winner was touched off after taking the short route home to poke his head in front 50m out following a patient ride two from the rear. It was a return to form, but it may prove too late to stave off retirement off a rating of 15. Charmander kept on gamely for third after getting pestered for the lead by Foxhunter Way. It was a better effort on his return to the 1,600m trip of a third in January. Medic Elite came from last for fourth without threatening the top three but did not gain a clear run until the 200m. He is as honest as the day is long. Star Of Glory stayed on next best after sitting outside the eventual winner from behind midfield. Happy Hunk whacked on one-paced when asked for an effort after a prominent run on the fence. Joyful Friendship will sleep well after getting posted wide without cover the entire trip travelling midfield.
