Superb Capitalist worked hard to lead one off the rail 800m out and kept finding when asked for more to ring up a fifth career win from 16 starts and second on the bounce. Favourite Gummy Gummy ran on well for second after settling one off the rail in better than midfield. He continues to race well without winning on both surfaces and courses this term. Punted late, Harmony N Blessed whacked on at one pace over the last 100m to just hold onto third after prompting the pace on the fence. It was another honest performance. Colourful Emperor just failed to get up for third after travelling behind midfield from gate 12. It was another genuine performance despite a rise in after a third Valley 1,200m win earlier this month. Tomodachi Kokoroe just plodded after getting all favours in the box seat from gate two. Nordic Dragon ran on without threatening after a patient ride in third last from a tricky gate. He has failed to put his best foot forward in 11 outings this term. Humble Star just plodded after travelling in midfield on the fence. He isn't good enough at this level.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine : (693) - WILTSHIRE HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 BUNDLE OF CHARM (G213) A Badel Shortly after the start was steadied to avoid COLOURFUL EMPEROR which shifted in abruptly and was then corrected by its rider.

Horse No 2 MAJESTIC KNIGHT (G258) H Bowman Approaching the 300 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters.

After the race, H Bowman stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover in a race that was run inside of standard time and together with its equal top weight the horse was unable to finish its race off.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 KURPANY (D172) E C W Wong Bumped at the start and a short distance later was then hampered when crowded by BUNDLE OF CHARM.

Horse No 5 COLOURFUL EMPEROR (H167) Y L Chung Shifted in at the start abruptly, resulting in its rider Y L Chung having to correct his mount.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of Y L Chung, 4th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he will be nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.

Horse No 6 SEASONS WIT (H223) K De Melo Crowded shortly after the start.

Making the turn near the 1000 Metres was checked when crowded between WE ARE HERO which was taken out slightly by HUMBLE STAR and KURPANY (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in when not clear.

Apprentice Wong was reprimanded.

Near the 550 Metres commenced to race keenly and was checked to avoid WE ARE HERO when positioned to the inside of KURPANY.

Horse No 7 GUMMY GUMMY (H089) C L Chau Approaching the 300 Metres raced tight to the inside of MAJESTIC KNIGHT and made contact with the hindquarters of that runner.

Horse No 8 SUPERB CAPITALIST (H092) M Chadwick Prior to declaring weighed-in, the Stewards gave consideration as to whether SUPERB CAPITALIST had gained an unfair advantage at the start when it made contact with the starting gate as the start was effected.

After viewing the patrol films, the Stewards found that SUPERB CAPITALIST lunged forward simultaneously as the start was effected and as a consequence made contact with the starting gate, resulting in SUPERB CAPITALIST jumping awkwardly.

As the Stewards were satisfied that the horse had not gained an advantage from this incident, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.

Horse No 12 HUMBLE STAR (H125) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.

Horse No CARROLL STREET (D489) C Y Ho CARROLL STREET, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 21.5.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right front fetlock radiographic abnormality).

Before being allowed to race again, CARROLL STREET will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
