Race Three : (687) - LANCASHIRE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 SATIRICAL FAN (J214) E C W Wong Bumped at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) Z Purton Near the 250 Metres was shifted to the outside of HARRY'S HERO to secure clear running and made contact with SUPER TAICHI.
Horse No 3 COMET SPLENDIDO (G071) Y L Chung On jumping, blundered, shifted out and made contact with SUPER TAICHI.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when held up between SATIRICAL FAN and ATOMIC BEAUTY.
Horse No 4 BEER PALACE (H361) L Ferraris Slow to begin and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
For some distance after the 400 Metres was badly held up behind MASTER TORNADO which was giving ground.
After the race, L Ferraris could offer no explanation for his mount's failure to run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 ATOMIC BEAUTY (H066) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 MASTER TORNADO (G410) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan reported that when he had concern that there may be something amiss with his mount when it commenced to give ground noticeably in the Home Straight, he eased it down from the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, MASTER TORNADO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 7 SUPER TAICHI (J201) C Y Ho On jumping was crowded between SATIRICAL FAN and COMET SPLENDIDO which shifted out.
Near the 250 Metres was bumped when FIGHTING MACHINE shifted out.
Horse No 8 COURIER MAGIC (H290) B Thompson Bumped at the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 9 HARRY'S HERO (H332) M F Poon In the middle stages raced keenly.
Horse No 10 PALACE PAL (G172) H Bentley Held up making the Home Turn.
Horse No 11 AMAZING BOY (D513) M Chadwick From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 12 DRAGON PRIDE (D164) L Hewitson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Satirical Fan kept on gamely after dictating the pace from gate seven for a first local win at his fourth start. He enjoyed the downgrade and move to cheekpieces with the claim well utilised. Firming favourite Atomic Beauty did everything right but found one too smart on the day after a box-seat run. He continues to add to his fine campaign. Comet Splendido got up for third but was short of room in the closing stages. He has returned to form to fill the frame in his past three starts. Fighting Machine ran on well through the middle to fill the frame after a patient ride in fourth last from gate 10. It was a better effort at his second attempt over the Valley 1,650m. Courier Magic made some late ground near the outside to finish next best after travelling wide without cover in midfield. It was a good effort despite a tough run. Amazing Boy ran on without threatening after travelling towards the rear from a wide draw. He couldn't build on a last-start win in Class Five. Palace Pal got going late without menacing from behind midfield. He is not genuine. Master Tornado finished eased down.
