Recap by phillip woo

After assuming the lead from gate 11, Arthur's Kingdom straightened for home two lengths on top and kept finding plenty for a first win 26th local start. He had been building towards a win in his past two starts following a rise in trip. Fancied to jump equal favourite, Go Go Go found one too smart after getting all favours following a prominent run on the fence. He is a winner wating to happen following back-to-back runner-up efforts. Classic Archi stayed on for third after settling three back on the fence from gate two. It was a return to form after doing little following a win in September. Early favourite Happy Hero made headway with one wider out to just take fourth after turning the final bend in midfield. It was another honest performance over the 2,200m. Keen Unity came from near last and widest out to just miss fourth. He can bob up at any moment after two positive runs following a downgrade. Ninja Derby just plodded after a handy run three wide with cover. Green Laser ran on without threatening. Diamond Winner's move from last at the 800m was short lived.

From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 2 COLOURFUL BARON (G301) Y L Chung Near the 1500 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from FASTPASS.

For a short distance after the 1400 Metres raced tight between GO GO GO and FASTPASS which shifted in slightly.

After the race, Y L Chung reported that after holding a forward position, his mount was unsuited when the pace of the event eased in the middle stages.

He said as a result his mount was unable to quicken when placed under pressure from the 600 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 GO GO GO (H196) Z Purton Jumped awkwardly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 NINJA DERBY (H339) M Chadwick After the race, M Chadwick reported that he was instructed to take up a position where his mount was comfortable.

He said after commencing well he elected to allow NINJA DERBY to stride forward and race in the lead in the early stages.

Horse No 7 SUNNY SHINES (H484) A Atzeni The performance of SUNNY SHINES, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, SUNNY SHINES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 8 CIRCUIT ELITE (E487) C Y Ho Raced wide and without cover until the 1000 Metres.

The performance of CIRCUIT ELITE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT ELITE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 9 FASTPASS (H040) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover from the 1000 Metres.

When questioned regarding his riding in the early stages, K C Leung stated that after obtaining a position on the rail in the early stages, he then elected to shift his mount out one-off near the 1600 Metres in order to follow NINJA DERBY.

He said he made such move to avoid FASTPASS being caught on the rail in what he thought might be a slowly run event.

He said after obtaining a position behind NINJA DERBY approaching the 1500 Metres, FASTPASS commenced to race keenly and as a result shifted out and away from NINJA DERBY into a three wide position.

He added shortly after when NINJA DERBY remained one-off, this allowed COLOURFUL BARON to improve to his inside and resulted in FASTPASS being obliged to race three wide thereafter.

Horse No 10 ARTHUR'S KINGDOM (E194) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 11 DIAMOND WINNER (H285) A Badel Jumped only fairly and from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
