Recap by phillip woo

After stalking the pace, firming favourite New Power got up 60m out to make it back-to-back wins on the bounce following a return to the Valley 1,200m. He has the tools to win again. So Treasure wouldn't go down without a fight after surging to the lead at the 1,000m marker from gate nine. He was able to back up an improved fourth last start. Tattenham stayed on nicely to finish a close third after getting asked for an effort 550m out following a wide trip in midfield. Talents Supremo made good late ground near the inside for fourth after biding his time two from the rear. It was another honest effort. California Cible came up flat inside the last 100m following a run on the rail behind midfield. It was a better effort following a downgrade. Draco stayed on OK after travelling wide with cover trip from a tricky gate. He is still a work in progress but hasn't faired too badly in both his starts. Shinkansen only plodded after travelling one off the rail in midfield. Valhalla weakened after rushing forward from gate 11 to track the leader 700m out. He had an excuse.
