Racing Incident Report
Race One : (589) - STUBBS HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 KING INVINCIBLE (H199) Z Purton Bumped shortly after the start.
Near the 600 Metres was steadied when crowded between HERO STAR which lay out and SWEET DIAMOND (A Badel) which shifted in when not quite clear.
A Badel was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 2 ALLOY KING (D287) H Bentley After the 50 Metres was bumped by SAME TO YOU which shifted out.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 SAME TO YOU (H057) B Thompson Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running.
Horse No 5 SUPER AXIOM (E105) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 MODEST GENTLEMAN (G352) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
When questioned regarding his riding out approaching the finish of the event, C L Chau advised that during the running of the race his vision became impaired due to some kickback from the track.
He said over the concluding stages he stopped riding MODEST GENTLEMAN for one stride before realising his mount had not reached the winning post which resulted in him resuming riding it out to the finish.
Jockey Chau was reprimanded and advised that he must show better judgement than what he did on this occasion and ensure his mounts are ridden out to the end of the race.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 TIMESTORM (G109) H Bowman Raced in restricted room shortly after the start.
Horse No 10 AUGUST MOON (D409) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover from the 600 Metres.
Passing the 50 Metres was steadied to avoid ALLOY KING.
Horse No 12 NOIR RIDER (E138) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
After the race, M L Yeung stated that with his mount dropping back to 1000 Metres it was out-paced in the early stages and, in his opinion, would be better suited being stepped up distance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.

Firming favourite Super Axiom kept finding for an easy win after leading as expected from gate six. A downgrade and change to a 10-pound claimer worked the oracle. Modest Gentleman ran on nicely from behind midfield to snatch second from Sweet Diamond. It was a return to form following a stable change. Sweet Diamond gave another honest sight after working forward from gate 12 to track the leader. He's a winner waiting to happen if he can draw a proper gate. Hero Star came up one-paced after settling in the box seat. It was another consistent effort following a downgrade. Timestorm made good late ground along the inside but just missed the frame after biding his time in second last from gate 10. He is likely approaching a bottom on his past two efforts. Same To You made some ground without threatening from towards the rear. It was a career-best effort following a downgrade. Goodmanship produced a grinding effort from midfield. King Invincible was retreating 100m out. It was another disappointing effort despite a downgrade.
