Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (595) - BOWEN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 CAPITAL DELIGHT (H262) C Y Ho From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 350 Metres became held up behind GOKO WIN and shifted to that runner's outside to obtain clear running and in doing so made contact with EASON.
Horse No 2 SUPERB CAPITALIST (H092) Y L Chung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 EASON (G061) A Badel Near the 350 Metres was bumped and taken wider by CAPITAL DELIGHT.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, EASON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 GOKO WIN (H069) E C W Wong Noted to have blood in the nose after the race.
Horse No 6 BEAUTY INFINITY (H377) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 NOT USUAL STAR (G396) C L Chau After travelling a short distance bucked and was eased down from the event approaching the 1100 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The racing manners of NOT USUAL STAR were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, NOT USUAL STAR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial carrying a raceday saddle.
Horse No 8 HAPPY FAT CAT (G166) M F Poon The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in whilst they considered if HAPPY FAT CAT had been afforded a fair start.
After taking evidence from Jockey M F Poon, Trainer W K Mo and Starter A Speechley, the Stewards found that as the start was effected HAPPY FAT CAT anticipated the start, lunged forward and made contact with gates.
This resulted in HAPPY FAT CAT then sitting back in its barrier and losing significant ground.
As the Stewards were of the opinion that HAPPY FAT CAT had been afforded a fair start, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.
The Stewards ruled that the barrier manners of HAPPY FAT CAT were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY FAT CAT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 KYRUS DRAGON (H396) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Superb Capitalist led from gate four and never looked back after turning the final bend three lengths on top to land a betting move. He is never easy to catch if allowed to get his own way in front. Favourite Beauty Infinity had his chance but couldn't eat into the margin after stalking the pace. He is proving costly on a win line but has placed three times following a win in February. Kyrus Dragon ran on steadily from behind midfield to finish level for second. He is building towards a win. Brave Star kept on one-paced after getting all favours in the box seat. He went OK after a break. Capital Delight ran on well for fifth with one wider out after biding his time towards the rear from a wide draw. It was a pleasing run carrying top weight with a step up in trip off a break. Goko Win just plodded after a prominent run despite having the added benefit of the 10-pound claimer. He continues to disappoint. Happy Fat Cat was a non-factor after badly missing the kick. Specked late, Not Usual Star did not finish off the race after bucking soon following the start.
