Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (572) - FREESIA HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 COPARTNER PRANCE (H408) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 FLYING DRAGON (E360) K H Chan Shortly after the start COSMO NAVIGATOR was bumped by SPEEDY SMARTIE and then shifted out away from that runner and when being corrected by its rider made contact with TATTENHAM, resulting in TATTENHAM being taken out and crowding FLYING DRAGON which was checked.
Was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the turn near the 600 Metres WIN SPEED lay out, resulting in SPEEDY SMARTIE being taken out and FLYING DRAGON then being steadied to avoid SPEEDY SMARTIE, shifting out and making the turn wide.
FLYING DRAGON then lay out in the middle stages and near the 350 Metres was taken wider when bumped by SPEEDY CHARIOT which shifted to the outside of TATTENHAM to improve.
Horse No 3 SKY SONG (J159) B Avdulla Over the concluding stages was steadied when crowded and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 WIN SPEED (J205) B Thompson Jumped only fairly.
Passing the 100 Metres was steadied to avoid ROARING BEBE which shifted in.
Horse No 5 ROARING BEBE (H105) A Badel Jumped awkwardly.
Approaching the 1000 Metres was eased when crowded between WIN SPEED and SKY SONG which lay in.
Horse No 6 COSMO NAVIGATOR (H156) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start, shifted out and became unbalanced.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 SPEEDY SMARTIE (H108) C L Chau Crowded shortly after the start.
Horse No 8 JOYFUL LIFE (H426) K C Leung Over the concluding stages was crowded and was unable to be ridden out to the finish of the event.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 9 SPEEDY CHARIOT (H193) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 10 TATTENHAM (H121) K Teetan Crowded shortly after the start.
Horse No 11 PHILOS (H371) Y L Chung Over the concluding stages SPEEDY SMARTIE (C L Chau) shifted in whilst being ridden along, resulting in JOYFUL LIFE initially shifting in and away from that runner and then being crowded, causing SKY SONG to be steadied when crowded in onto PHILOS which was checked.
C L Chau was reprimanded and advised that he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear.

Firming favourite Copartner Prance took control 150m out after chasing the speed from a middle draw for back-to-back wins. He should hold his own up in grade off a light weight. My Intelligent stayed on nicely to finish a clear second after tracking the speed on the fence. It was another honest performance. Speedy Smartie darted late for third after settling one off the rail behind midfield. It was his best performance from three starts over the Valley 1,200m. Tattenham got going late near the outside for fourth after making his run from third last. He has been around the mark without placing in his past five starts. Joyful Life kept on at one pace after a wide trip near the speed from gate 12. He had an excuse. Roaring Bebe worked home well near the inside to finish next best after turning the final bend two from the rear. It was a better effort at his second career start. Sky Song produced only an even effort after travelling one off the fence in midfield. He couldn't build on a closing debut third over 1,000m but it's still early days for the three-year-old.
