Super Commander led from gate 12 and kept finding after slipping clear by three lengths 400m out for a first win at his ninth start this term. He did place twice over this trip in October. Lifeline Express stayed on well for second after a prominent run. He's improved from one run to the next and will be saluting shortly. Odds-on favourite James Tak whacked on one paced chasing the winner from a middle gate. He couldn't build on a last-start win with a 10-pound claimer atop. Chilli Baba ran on well for fourth after making his run near the stands side from behind midfield. It was a pleasing effort with a return to the course and distance of his only win. Less Is More ran on well near the far side for fifth after biding his time one from the rear. It was an encouraging debut effort. Timestorm only plodded after a midfield run on the grandstand side. He's crying out for downgrade. Both Metro Warrior and newcomer Deep Pursuit were withdrawn after being restless in the stalls by order of the stewards on veterinary advice.

Horse No 1 JAMES TAK (J007) E C W Wong Jumped awkwardly and blundered shortly after the start.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 RED ELEGANCE (H241) B Avdulla Shifted in at the start and was bumped.

After the race, B Avdulla reported that when placed under pressure his mount did not respond to his riding and he had some concern with its action.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, RED ELEGANCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 4 SPARKLING DOLPHIN (C332) H T Mo Jumped awkwardly and blundered shortly after the start.

Horse No 11 CHILLI BABA (G339) Y L Chung Passing the 400 Metres blundered.

Horse No 12 VALIANT ELEGANCE (D285) H Bentley Bumped near the 250 Metres.

Horse No 13 UNIVERSAL PURSUIT (H286) L Hewitson Bumped shortly after the start.

Lay out throughout the event and near the 250 Metres shifted out and away from RED ELEGANCE and as a result made contact with VALIANT ELEGANCE.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 14 TIMESTORM (G109) M F Poon Was contacted on the rump by DEEP PURSUIT when that runner was fractious in the barriers.

Removed from the barriers, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

Approaching the 50 Metres was steadied when crowded by CHILLI BABA (Apprentice Y L Chung) which shifted out.

Apprentice Chung was advised to exercise more care.

Horse No 6 DEEP PURSUIT (H288) C Y Ho After being loaded into the starting gates became fractious, reared and became cast for a considerable period.

Removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was not suitable to race.

Acting on this advice, DEEP PURSUIT was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, DEEP PURSUIT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 2 METRO WARRIOR (D387) Z Purton After being loaded into the starting gates became fractious, reared and struck its head on the barrier partition.

Removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was not suitable to race.

Acting on this advice, METRO WARRIOR was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, METRO WARRIOR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
