Amazing Duck led and just held off the favourites after turning the final bend a length on top for an upset win. He relished a return to turf and rise in trip after going okay once on dirt. Beauty Crescent ran on nicely to make it close on the wire after switching off heels for a clear run 200m out from behind midfield. He should have won. Beauty Fit stayed on a close third after settling effectively one-out, one-back from gate 14. He's racing very well but can't find the winner's circle. Favourite Joyful Hunter came up one paced over the last 100m with his bid after peeling out three wide approaching the final bend following a one off trip from behind midfield. He doesn't seem to get the 1,400m. Jolly Ruler made some ground to finish next best after a rails run from midfield. It was an okay effort in rare outing over 1,400m. Flying Mojito made some ground without threatening one from the right after settling five back and one off the fence from a tricky gate. Leslie was doing his best work late but gave them too much of a head start ridden one from the rear.

Race Ten : (342) - YUEN LONG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334) Z Purton From the 350 Metres was held up behind BEAUTY FIT and SWIFT ASCEND and did not obtain clear running until near the 200 Metres when it shifted to the outside of SWIFT ASCEND.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 JOYFUL HUNTER (H198) C Y Ho Near the 650 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from SWIFT ASCEND, resulting in JOYFUL HUNTER being shifted to a three wide position thereafter.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 MASSIVE ACTION (E445) E C W Wong Jumped awkwardly.

After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that with the pace from the start being run inside of standard, his mount was not able to lead the event.

He said when placed under pressure in the Home Straight MASSIVE ACTION lay in, did not respond to his riding and weakened over the final 150 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 BEAUTY FIT (E279) A Hamelin Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and was bumped.

Horse No 7 JOLLY RULER (E346) L Hewitson After the 350 Metres was held up for clear running behind MASSIVE ACTION and then did not secure clear running until near the 200 Metres.

Horse No 9 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) K De Melo Slow to begin and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 150 Metres lay out slightly and then was steadied to avoid LESLIE (K C Leung) which shifted in to obtain clear running.

K C Leung was advised to exercise more care.

Horse No 10 STORM LEGEND (G139) H Bentley Raced tight for a short distance on jumping.

Horse No 12 I CAN (H381) A Atzeni Became fractious in the barriers and sat down for a short period.

Removed from the barriers, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

Before being allowed to race again, I CAN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

Jumped only fairly and then was badly crowded by SWIFT ASCEND which was taken in by BEAUTY FIT.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
