Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (338) - PING SHAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 HOLY LAKE (H260) C Y Ho Near the 500 Metres made contact with the running rail when racing tight to the inside of LUCKY ETERNITY.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 BEER PALACE (H361) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with BEATO.
In the early and middle stages raced keenly due to the slow pace.
Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race.
Horse No 3 BEATO (H090) Z Purton Bumped at the start.
Raced wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres became unbalanced when bumped heavily by LUCKY ETERNITY on a number of occasions (see LUCKY ETERNITY).
Close to the finishing line was steadied away from CHATEAU which lay in.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 ARIEL (G223) L Ferraris Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 UP AND UP (H163) L Hewitson Over-raced in the early and middle stages due to the slow pace.
Horse No 7 LUCKY ETERNITY (G478) H Bowman An inquiry was conducted into the reason for LUCKY ETERNITY making heavy contact with BEATO (Z Purton) for some distance between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.
H Bowman stated that near the 450 Metres when his mount was travelling strongly, he observed BEATO to his outside, which had been obliged to race wide and without cover, not travelling, in his opinion, strongly and as a result he endeavoured to obtain a run between BEATO and JOYFUL PROSPERITY.
He said when BEATO held its ground, he made heavy contact with that runner for some distance thereafter and approaching the 300 Metres desisted from attempting to obtain this run and shifted to the inside whereby LUCKY ETERNITY secured clear running approaching the 150 Metres.
The Stewards were satisfied that in this incident BEATO had shifted in principally due to the contact from JOYFUL PROSPERITY and Jockey Purton was riding competitively to hold his position to the outside of LUCKY ETERNITY.
Horse No 8 WINNING STEPS (G420) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Over the concluding stages had some difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind BEER PALACE.
Horse No 10 CHATEAU (H214) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly.
Over-raced throughout the early and middle stages due to the slow pace.
Near the 900 Metres shifted out to avoid LUCKY ETERNITY and made heavy contact with JOYFUL PROSPERITY.
Horse No 11 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with G LINER.
Bumped heavily and taken wider near the 900 Metres and raced wide and without cover thereafter.
Near the 700 Metres was ridden forward to endeavour to obtain a position closer to the rail.
Horse No 12 NORTHERN BEAST (H233) A Hamelin On jumping was checked when crowded between LUCKY ETERNITY and BEATO.
In the early and middle stages raced keenly due to the slow pace.
Near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being checked away from CHATEAU.
Near the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from BEER PALACE.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 13 G LINER (H072) K C Leung Bumped at the start.
Near the 300 Metres was steadied when crowded between HOLY LAKE and JOYFUL PROSPERITY (B Avdulla) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 14 SPLENDID STAR (G026) M Chadwick From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Holy Lake reeled in leader Ariel 50m out following a box seat run for a third win from his past four starts and first at his second straight run over the 1,600m. He did it well carrying a big weight. Punted late Ariel wouldn't go down without a fight after clearing to the lead 1,400m out. He keeps promising without delivering. Lucky Eternity should have gone close to winning if not badly held up and hampered for a run from the 350m until the 100m. Beer Palace ran on well for fourth after making his run one off from behind midfield. He's naturally coming to hand and should find a race shortly in this grade. Chateau stayed on reasonably well to just miss the frame after a wide with cover trip from midfield. It was another positive effort. Joyful Prosperity wasn't beaten far in the end despite rushing forward after a very wide trip from midfield to attack the speed 650m out. Favourite Beato came up one-paced last 100m after scrimmaging with Lucky Eternity mid-straight following a prominent run wide without cover.
