Recap by phillip woo
Outsider Hang's Decision finished boldly down the outside after being ridden for luck from a wide gate to just out-finish General Sherman for a sixth career win. He's good when right and did get the pace to suit. General Sherman rattled home near the inside after getting going from the tail of the field at the 500m to make it close on the wire. Like the latter, he was suited by the pace but it was a solid effort over an unsuitable trip. Green Card kept on reasonably well after being pestered for the lead by the post-time favourite Noble Steed. He's near a bottom and can pop up at any moment. Flash Famous got going late from near the back to fill a First-4 spot. He might be itching for a longer trip now. Noble Steed knocked up 100m out after working hard to sit outside the leader. He had excuses. Early favourite Villa Fionn was eased down 350m out after settling oneout, one-back in the run. The vet might need to have a good look at him.
