Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (611) - AUDEMARS PIGUET LADY MILLENARY HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
MY DARLING and HOT KING PRAWN bumped at the start.
CALIFORNIA FORTUNE lost its right front plate at the start.
Shortly after the start, SHAMAL and MAGIC LEGEND were crowded for room between ALWAYS WIN and SUMMER PASSAGE which got its head on the side and shifted out away from JUMBO LUCK.
A short distance after this crowding occurred, ALWAYS WIN lost ground when crowded for room between MAGIC LEGEND which shifted out after being bumped on the hindquarters by ALWAYS WIN and MY DARLING which was racing tight inside HOT KING PRAWN.
From wide barriers, WISHFUL THINKER and KEY WITNESS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
When being ridden along to maintain its position inside JUMBO LUCK approaching the 900 Metres, EPTIMUM became badly unbalanced of its own accord and then had to be hard ridden to maintain its position inside JUMBO LUCK.
Also approaching the 900 Metres, JUMBO LUCK raced tight inside SUMMER PASSAGE which was awkwardly placed inside SHAMAL.
Passing the 800 Metres, EPTIMUM commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when awkwardly placed behind SHAMAL.
CALIFORNIA FORTUNE travelled wide and without cover until after the 600 Metres.
Approaching and passing the 500 Metres, EPTIMUM got its head on the side and lay out and was reluctant to maintain its position inside HOT KING PRAWN.
For some distance after the 400 Metres, WISHFUL THINKER was checked away from the heels of MAGIC LEGEND when badly held up for clear running behind that horse.
WISHFUL THINKER was then unable to obtain clear running until approaching the 200 Metres.
Throughout the race, E-SUPER travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of CALIFORNIA FORTUNE, SUMMER PASSAGE and EPTIMUM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of LUCKY WAN FENG immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
WISHFUL THINKER and HOT KING PRAWN were sent for sampling.

Travelling second from the back, late-fancied Wishful Thinker showed an exciting turn of foot to get up 30m out after being badly held up until switching into the open at the 150m. Favourite Hot King Prawn moved to the front at the 200m after settling one off chasing the leading pair from a wide gate but found one better on the day. He lost nothing in defeat in his first run around a bend after a lengthy break and he remains one to follow. Always Win ran on well travelling behind midfield to get the bob down over dirt specialist Team Fortune for third. He's really come into his own this season and might have the tools to win another after winning two straight in Class Three. Team Fortune finished nicely down the outside after travelling third from the rear to just miss a placing at a price in a rare positive run on the turf. Jumbo Luck kept on all right following a handy run. He's an honest sprinter but doesn't have much upside off his current mark.
