Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Mission Tycoon scraped the paint sitting box-seat, got the gap at the 350m and quickened well to win going away. It was a polished effort on the back of a first-up defeat as the favourite and he can head higher. Solar Patch finished well after travelling third from the rear to grab second close to home. He followed up a debut win and there appears more up his sleeves. Top Beautiful closed well near the inside travelling behind midfield. The move to blinkers had a positive effect. Raging Blitzkrieg grudgingly gave way after rushing to second at the 150m after a deep run without cover in midfield from a wide gate. He's knocking on the door and can pop up at any time. Specked late Sebfire ran on nicely after switching out for a clear run at the 250m following a one-off run travelling behind midfield. Same came be said of Villa Fionn, another newcomer who closed well down the outside after going back from a wide gate to settle one from the back.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (607) - AUDEMARS PIGUET MILLENARY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

SUPER WISE and BRAVE LEGEND bumped at the start.

JING JING WIN began awkwardly.

From the outside barrier, BURST AWAY was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Also from a wide barrier, VILLA FIONN was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover in the early stages.

After the 900 Metres, RAGING BLITZKRIEG was left racing wide and without cover.

MISSION TYCOON was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.

Passing the 200 Metres, SEBFIRE was shifted out a number of horses to obtain clear running.

Passing the 50 Metres, JING JING WIN got its head on the side and was inclined to lay in, resulting in its rider, Z Purton, having to correct his mount.

Close to the finishing line, SEBFIRE raced tight inside SOLAR PATCH and consequently was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.

When questioned, A Sanna stated that it was intended for TOP BEAUTIFUL to be ridden in a prominent position.

He said it was hoped that, from the horse's inside barrier, it would be able to race in about 4th or 5th position.

He said in the barriers TOP BEAUTIFUL was restless and then in the early stages did not show enough early speed to be able to race in a forward position.

He said SEBFIRE, which was drawn directly inside of TOP BEAUTIFUL, showed more early speed than TOP BEAUTIFUL and therefore he shifted his mount across behind that horse in the early stages when TOP BEAUTIFUL did not show its anticipated early speed.

He said this resulted in TOP BEAUTIFUL racing back in the field.

When questioned, S Clipperton (SOLAR PATCH) stated that he was asked to obtain a position in advance of midfield if possible.

He said SOLAR PATCH began only fairly and then bumped with BRAVE LEGEND shortly after the start.

He said having regard to the manner in which SOLAR PATCH began, he believed he would have had to ride his mount aggressively in an attempt to ride his mount as instructed and this may have resulted in him racing very wide.

He said he therefore elected, shortly after the start, to shift SOLAR PATCH across behind runners and obtain a position closer to the rail.

After the race, it was noted that SEBFIRE had blood at its right nostril.

A subsequent endoscopic examination of SEBFIRE confirmed the horse to be a bleeder.

A veterinary inspection of BRAVE LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

A veterinary inspection of SPARKLING DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MISSION TYCOON and SOLAR PATCH were sent for sampling.
