Recap by phillip woo
Pakistan Star dashed clear after hitting the front 260m out following a lovely run oneout, one-back under last-second riding engagement William Buick. He's always promised and just had to put it all together. Gold Mount flashed home to grab second 150m out after a patient ride at the rear of the field. It was huge run in defeat but he needs longer than 2,000m. Eagle Way stayed on nicely following a midfield run to fill a placing. Like the runner-up, he'll appreciate a longer trip. Derby winner Ping Hai Star got going late travelling second from the rear to finish a non-threatening fourth. He's still got plenty going for him heading forward. Japanese raider Al Ain wasn't good enough following a prominent run. Dinozzo came up one-paced travelling midfield. He just isn't good enough at this level. Favourite Time Warp didn't get much of a breather in front after having to work to clear Danburite for the lead from an outside gate. It just wasn't his day.
