Hong Kong’s EDB launches tools to support students waiting for HKDSE results
- Candidates can get career guidance, find information about different areas of study, and plan their time after secondary school on the website

Photo: HandoutForm Six students have finished the HKDSE and are bracing themselves for results day - but that’s not until July 21. In the meantime, the Education Bureau (EDB) launched three useful tools on Thursday to support these students with career guidance and help planning their next move.
These tools, called e-Navigator, Further Studies and Career Map, and Compass@HKDSE, are all available on the EBD website.
The e-Navigator allows students to search for information about different programmes at different institutions in Hong Kong. With options to search by “Area of Study” or “Institution”, students can find their preferred course and level.
The Further Studies and Career Map provides students with a checklist of important dates to remember, such as the application deadline for the Diploma Yi Jin Programme and programme modification for Jupas.
Compass@HKDSE is a tool that helps with creating plans for future studies by providing information on multiple pathways, as well as contacts for supporting services. Organisations like the The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups have made special arrangements on results release day to provide emotional support and study planning consultation.

A spokesman for the EDB said, “We hope that all Secondary Six students will make good use of these useful tools to choose the right direction according to their interests, needs and aptitude, so as to develop to their full potential and realise their aspirations.”
The spokesperson added that some international and professional examinations across the world have been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
