Happy Diwali! On one of the biggest and most important holidays for the Indian community, Young Post is excited to offer a limited number of free admission tickets for the upcoming Words on Water literary discussions, presented by India by the Bay in collaboration with the Hong Kong International Literary Festival.
Three sessions will feature three different internationally acclaimed authors. In conversation with Jim Hildebrandt, the bestselling author of Slumdog Millionaire and former diplomat Vikas Swarup will discuss his writing journey and the influences behind his latest novel, The Girl with the Seven Lives.
Writer, broadcaster, and researcher Aarathi Prasad will talk about her book, Silk: A History in Three Metamorphoses, with the SCMP’s Zuraidah Ibrahim.
What is Diwali and how is the festival celebrated?
Finally, author and historian John Zubrzycki will examine his book Dethroned: The Downfall of India’s Princely States and share the dramatic true story about the betrayal of hundreds of Indian princely states by the departing British and the new Congress government in a session moderated by Fionnuala McHugh.
