Vibe: Classy and upmarket – while we don’t think there is a strict dress code, we would recommend not turning up in shorts and flip-flops.

Who to take: A date you want to impress, or a friend you want to treat.

What’s hot: The set menu for lunch changes regularly, and best of all, it is super affordable. We also appreciate that there is a dedicated lunch menu for vegetarians, too.

The pomelo and prawn on betel leaves we had were smoky, but lacked the tang we wanted. The ginger, peanuts, toasted coconut and lime on betel leaves were better, and we liked the lingering ginger aftertaste.

We really enjoyed the ma hor, a pre-meal appetiser made up of pineapple slices topped with minced meat and peanuts. It’s a tiny bite, but just enough to really get your appetites and taste buds going.

The stir fry beef with onion, Thai basil and oyster sauce was nicely charred, and the beef was moist and tender. If we could change anything about it, we would want a little more sauce added to it to mix in with our rice.

The mango sticky rice proved a perfect way to end the meal – the mango was sweet and juicy, and the rice was fragrant with just the right amount of stickiness.

What’s not: While we really wanted to like the deep fried perch with tamarind and chilli, we thought it was average. The perch was silky smooth, but didn’t quite deliver the kick we expected.

Cost: The lunch set menu costs HK$198 for two courses, and HK$258 for three courses. Drinks are HK$40-HK$80. Lunch is served between midday and 3pm.
