Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (200) - CHEK LAP KOK HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 SON PAK FU (G265) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 2 HARMONY N BLESSED (E061) K De Melo After the 900 Metres shifted in to obtain cover behind GLORY ELITE and then commenced to race keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that runner for some distance.
Horse No 4 LUCKY ENCOUNTER (H274) A Atzeni Near the 250 Metres was steadied away from BEAUTY CHARGE when that runner shifted out abruptly to avoid JAMES TAK.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY ENCOUNTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 BEAUTY CHARGE (G231) B Avdulla Knuckled on jumping.
Near the 250 Metres was steadied and shifted out to avoid JAMES TAK.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 GORGEOUS WIN (J008) J McDonald Raced keenly in the early stages.
Approaching the 600 Metres was taken wider by LUCKY ENCOUNTER which shifted out.
GORGEOUS WIN then raced wide and without cover thereafter.
Horse No 7 RAGING BLIZZARD (H368) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.
Making the Home Turn near the 350 Metres became unbalanced when positioned close to SING DRAGON.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 JAMES TAK (J007) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Near the 250 Metres was checked when crowded between GORGEOUS WIN (J McDonald) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider and GLORY ELITE (K C Leung) which shifted out and away from I GIVE.
In this incident, GLORY ELITE was contacted on the hindquarters, resulting in that runner being turned out further into the running of JAMES TAK.
As the Stewards were satisfied that the shifts from Jockeys McDonald and K C Leung were only of a minor nature, they were both asked in similar circumstances to exercise more care.

Horse No 10 WONDER KIT (G455) L Hewitson Near the 150 Metres L Hewitson dropped his left rein for a short distance.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 SING DRAGON (J141) H Bentley Held up making the Home Turn and near the 300 Metres was shifted to the inside of WONDER KIT to secure clear running.
Horse No 12 I GIVE (H036) M F Poon Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of M F Poon, 7th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.

Beauty Charge straightened two from the rear and overcame a sharp bump 250m out to get up in the last stride for a fifth win from 22 starts and third from six starts over the Valley 1,200m. Wonder Kit found one just too good after darting to the lead 150m out following a handy run on the fence. It was a return to form on a suitable wet track. Raging Blizzard came from last along the inside at the top of the straight for third. He's as honest as the day is long. Sing Dragon ran on well to just take fourth after a rails run from behind midfield. He's produced a decent sight four times on the turf this season but does prefer the dirt. Gorgeous Win just failed to get up for fourth settling three wide with cover travelling behind from a tricky gate. It was a better effort from two Valley runs following a win and third to start at Sha Tin this term. I Give finished next best after driving to the lead 900m out. James Tak gave up after getting squeezed out between runners 250m out following a prominent run wide without cover from gate 12. Lucky Encounter found nothing after a wide with cover trip. He resents wet tracks.
