Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (201) - FANLING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 NEARLY FINE (E430) E C W Wong Was fractious whilst being transported to Happy Valley and sustained a small abrasion to the right hind leg.
Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 2 YOUNG EMPEROR (K011) L Ferraris Bumped at the start.
After the event, L Ferraris reported that from an inside barrier his mount settled a little closer in the run than at its first race start.
He said after being inconvenienced near the 700 Metres when PRAWNS ELEVEN shifted out, his mount, under 134 lbs, did not finish the race off.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 EASON (G061) M F Poon Lay in over the concluding stages, resulting in its rider M F Poon having to correct his mount passing the winning post.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 GUSTOSISIMO (J303) Y L Chung Making the first turn after the 1000 Metres was bumped by ROMANTIC SON.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 PRAWNS ELEVEN (J140) H Bentley After the 700 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from ROMANTIC SON.
On straightening was steadied and shifted to the inside of GOLDEN LUCK to continue into clear running.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 DENFIELD (G471) J McDonald Near the 300 Metres was steadied and shifted to the inside of PRAWNS ELEVEN to continue into clear running.
Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when placed in restricted room between GUSTOSISIMO and EASON which shifted in.
Horse No 7 GOLDEN EMPIRE (E490) C Y Ho Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 8 ROMANTIC SON (J537) Z Purton Making the first turn was bumped.
After the event, Z Purton stated that the only explanation he could offer for the horse's performance was that ROMANTIC SON did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding" track conditions.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of ROMANTIC SON was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race start.
Before being allowed to race again, ROMANTIC SON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 9 BEAUTY INFINITY (H377) H Bowman Crowded on jumping between YOUNG EMPEROR and SOVEREIGN FUND, both of which shifted ground.
After the 200 Metres was held up for clear running between GOLDEN LUCK and EASON which shifted in slightly.
As a result, BEAUTY INFINITY did not obtain clear running until after the 150 Metres.
Horse No 10 SOVEREIGN FUND (J402) B Thompson On jumping was bumped and became unbalanced.
Leaving the 1100 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by GOLDEN EMPIRE which shifted in and away from ROMANTIC SON before being corrected by its rider.
Horse No 11 OUR LUCKY GLORY (G292) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.

Near the 1100 Metres became unbalance when it bumped with GALLANT EPOCH when that runner was racing tight to the inside of COLOURFUL WINNER.

Gustosisimo went forward from gate 10 to lead near the 900m and just scrambled in for a first local win at his fifth start. He had caught the eye in defeat in his past two runs. Eason made it close on the wire after a one-off trip from midfield. He's close to a win after producing back-to-back placings. Denfield ran on steadily near the inside for third after a rails run from behind midfield. It was his best run from eight starts in the grade following a recent Class Four win. Our Lucky Glory ran on nicely with one wider out for fourth after a patient ride one from the rear. He has hit the line well in both course and distance runs this term. Beauty Infinity was doing his best work late for fifth after making his run three from the rear. He's naturally coming to hand in his three starts this term. Specked late Golden Luck faded after a speed-tracking run from gate 12. He's a Class Four horse. Young Emperor only plodded after a handy run on the fence. He couldn't lift carrying 11 pounds more following an upset win on his local debut last month. Romantic Son found nothing under the whip after finding a spot in the box seat from gate nine.
