Raging favourite Super Unicorn was far too good after surging to the front 200m out following a prominent run on the fence. The win was due after placing in three of his six starts and it looks like he has the tools to win again. Charity Gain finished very well to grab second after switching inside off heels for a clear run 100m out following a patient run one from the rear. It was a vastly improved effort at his second ever start following a stable change. Strongest Boy ran on well for third after making his run five back on the fence. He rarely produces a bad run over the Valley 1,650m. To Infinity ran on reasonably well for fourth after a rail run from behind midfield. He was able to build on an unplaced run last month over 1,200m. Confringo ran on steadily for fifth after a one-off trip from midfield. It was an improved performance for his new trainer at his second career start. Beer Palace was on his tippy toes 100m out after clearing to lead 1,400m out from gate 12. He has gone OK in both starts this term. Fairy Horse ran on without threatening after making his run three from the rear.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three : (87) - MAN YIU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 NORTHERN BEAST (H233) H Bowman After the event, H Bowman reported that he was able to obtain a position outside the leader BEER PALACE in the early stages but NORTHERN BEAST failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.

He said, in his opinion, NORTHERN BEAST may be better suited by being ridden with cover.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 FAIRY HORSE (J144) A Badel Jumped awkwardly and then shortly after the start was bumped by CONFRINGO which shifted out.

Lay in over the final 200 Metres and approaching the winning post became awkwardly positioned close to the heels of CONFRINGO.

After the event, A Badel reported that after jumping awkwardly and then being crowded for room, FAIRY HORSE settled slightly further back than intended.

He said, in his opinion, FAIRY HORSE did not run out tonight's 1650 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 KIMBERLEY (H329) C L Chau Approaching the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of NORTHERN BEAST in an attempt to obtain clear running but then raced tight to the inside of NORTHERN BEAST, resulting in KIMBERLEY having difficulty obtaining clear running between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres.

Horse No 4 CHARITY GAIN (H431) C Y Ho Approaching the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of UNITED ENDEAVORS to continue into clear running.

Near the 150 Metres CHARITY GAIN was then held up behind TO INFINITY when that runner lay in and as a result CHARITY GAIN did not obtain clear running until leaving the 100 Metres.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 CONFRINGO (J322) K C Leung Shifted out at the start and was bumped.

Horse No 7 SUPER UNICORN (H481) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 TO INFINITY (G277) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly and was crowded shortly after the start.

Horse No 9 BEER PALACE (H361) L Ferraris After the event, L Ferraris reported that after being placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 ON THE LASH (J182) K De Melo As the start was effected, bounded and made contact with the left side of its barrier, resulting in its rider K De Melo becoming unbalanced and ON THE LASH losing ground.

Horse No 12 UNITED ENDEAVORS (G030) M L Yeung When giving ground near the 150 Metres was steadied when crowded between NORTHERN BEAST and CHARITY GAIN which shifted in.

Horse No FLYING WROTE (J290) Y L Chung Withdrawn on 7.10.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (colic) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter FAIRY HORSE.

Before being allowed to race again, FLYING WROTE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
