Horse No 9 OVERSUBSCRIBED (C361) A Badel After the race, A Badel could offer no explanation for the horse's failure to run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have a continuous epiglottic entrapment.
Horse No 11 ROMANTIC NOVELIST (J167) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No HAPPY HORSE (H061) H Bentley Withdrawn on 11.6.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter ROMANTIC NOVELIST.
Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY HORSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Late-fancied Red Elegance flew by Ma Comet 60m out after settling one off the rail behind midfield to ring up his first win at his fourth start following a stable change. He had been knocking on the door with seconds in two of his three Sha Tin 1,000m runs. Ma Comet did everything right but could not get the win after surging to the lead near the 100m. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in two of his past three starts following a downgrade. Firming favourite Sight Happy ran on well for a placing after settling on the rail in midfield. It was an improved effort from one run to the next for the three-year-old. Fancy Star ran on well along the inside for fourth after settling on the rail behind midfield. It was clearly his best run on his return to the Valley from seven starts. Sergeant Pepper just held his ground after a prominent run. He's on his mark after a win two runs ago. Parents' Love was on his tippy toes 100m out after working hard to lead 700m out from gate 11. He will likely be a better runner in six months' time. Oversubscribed never landed a blow after a wide trip in beyond midfield.
