Recap by phillip woo

Well-backed to jump a clear favourite, Youthful Spirits drew clear after rushing to the lead along the inside 600m out to register a first win at his sixth local start. He relished a step back to 1,000m after giving a cheeky sight for fourth last Wednesday over 1,200m. Happy United dashed well near the inside for second after making his run at the rear from gate 11. It was a return to form after failing to menace in five prior starts after a win in January. Heroic Master had his chance after a prominent run but only whacked on one paced over the final 50m. Telecom Speed came from near last along the inside to fill the frame. It was his best effort from nine runs in the grade. Atomic Force ran on late near the outside to just miss the frame after biding his time two from the rear. He was able to back up a pleasing fourth following a stable transfer. Colourful Prince finished next best after chasing the speed three wide without cover from a tricky gate. Early favourite and first time local starter Magic Control kept on evenly after a one-off trip from midfield. He needed the start.
