Recap by phillip woo

Sensationally backed, Ace Power showed a good turn of foot to win a blanket finish after a rails run from behind midfield. It was a vastly improved effort after failing to threaten in two prior starts. Valhalla ran on nicely to just miss after a one-off trip from midfield. He continues his sterling form this season. Wood On Fire did everything but get the win after moving to the lead 400m out following a speed-tracking run. It was a return to form for him from an ideal gate two. So Treasure stayed on all right after a prominent run on the fence. It was an improved performance at his third career start. After a patient ride one from the rear, early favourite Denfield got going late near the inside for fifth without threatening the top four. He disappointed despite a downgrade. Vantastic Choice had his chance but wasn't good enough after a box-seat run as the late-fancied favourite. He is more effective at Sha Tin. Well backed late, Racingrace came from a tailed-off spot to finish next best after a very slow start. He is still a work in progress.
