Recap by phillip woo

It was a race run to suit those up front. Escape Route held on for the win after rolling forward three wide from gate 12 to track the leader. He was able to build on a third last start over the 2,000m. Punted late, Forever Glorious would not go down without a fight after getting his own way in front from gate three. He's always a chance over the Valley 1,800m. Storm Winner stretched his neck out late to just deny favourite Mr Aladdin for third after a prominent run. He seemed to enjoy the 1,800m after producing a better run last start over the Valley 1,650m. Mr Aladdin had his chance but only plodded when asked for an effort after chasing the leading pair with cover from gate nine. It was another consistent performance without winning but he has proven costly. Flying Silver ran on steadily without threatening after a one-off trip from midfield. Chater Gold came up one paced after a rails run from better than midfield. Serangoon made headway late from towards the rear. He didn't get the race run to suit and was having his first run back following a colic attack.
