Recap by phillip woo

After stalking the pace, sensationally backed Beauty Destiny moved to the lead 300m out and just scrambled in for a first win at his ninth start. The gear change worked the oracle but he's not genuine. Favourite Lyrical Motion stayed on nicely for second after travelling in the box seat. He has been racing well all season long. Shinkansen ran on steadily for third after settling one off the fence in midfield. He rarely produces a bad run over the Valley 1,200m. Diamond Flare grudgingly gave way after dictating the run from gate three. He ran OK off a third last Wednesday. Clear Courage kept on evenly after a prominent run one off the fence. It was a positive debut effort at massive odds. Easy Snip ran on without threatening after making his run four from the rear. He prefers a faster strip. Golden Link kept on at one pace after settling wide without cover in midfield. He had an excuse and was carrying seven pounds more following a last-start win. Tattenham made only a mild bid after settling wide with cover behind midfield. Newcomer Sweet Smile was a non-factor after a slow start.
