Recap by phillip woo

Cordyceps One pinged the start to lead from gate 11 and kept up a strong gallop to make all and record his third Valley 1,650m win this term. He relished a return to the Valley with the claim well utilised after two defeats on the dirt. Brave Witness kept on but did not threaten in second after chasing the winner one off the fence from gate six. He is still a maiden but again found the Valley 1,650m suit him best. Fruity Warrior held his ground after settling in the box seat. He has produced mixed results from seven starts. Running Boy kept on evenly after a handy run. It was his best effort with a step up to 1,650m from five starts. Post-time favourite Setanta made some ground for fifth without threatening the top four after travelling one off the fence behind midfield. He requires a stronger pace. Early favourite Volcanic Spark ran on late without menacing after fading back to travel three from the rear. He didn't get the race run to suit trying the Valley for the first time. Cheong Fat produced a grinding effort after making his run four back on the fence. He should make his name soon in Class Five.
