Colourful Emperor was way too good after hitting the lead near the 100m for a third win from his past four starts. He's racing well and should remain competitive up in grade off a light weight. Plunged late, Solar Partner just overhauled California Touch in the closing stages for second after settling one off the rail chasing the leading pair. It was his best effort from eight starts in Class Three this season, but he does like a wet track. Firming late in betting, California Touch grudgingly gave way after rushing to the lead 1,000m out. He was able to back up a last-start win in Class Four. Kaholo Angel dashed late down the outside for fourth after biding his time at the rear from the widest draw. It was another good run on a biased course following a last-start win. Act Of Faith stayed on all right to finish next best without threatening the top four after settling wide without cover in midfield. Happy Trio just plodded after settling one off the rail just underneath Act Of Faith. He does find things harder in this grade. Lightning Bold ran on without threatening after making his run one from the rear.

Horse No 1 COLOURFUL EMPEROR (H167) Y L Chung Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 KAHOLO ANGEL (H216) E C W Wong When questioned, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that if his mount commenced well, he was given the option to go forward.

He said when KAHOLO ANGEL jumped only fairly and did not show pace in the early stages, he elected to shift his mount behind runners to avoid covering additional ground.

Horse No 3 SOLAR PARTNER (E364) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 ARMOUR EAGLE (G093) Z Purton After travelling a short distance was eased when crowded between CALIFORNIA TOUCH and HAPPY TRIO which shifted in slightly.

After the race, Z Purton reported that his mount did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding" track conditions.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 HAPPY TRIO (G244) L Hewitson After the race, L Hewitson stated that his mount was reluctant to improve to the inside of MY FLYING ANGEL making the Home Turn.

Horse No 8 LIGHTNING BOLT (G130) K Teetan Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by ACT OF FAITH.

Horse No 9 FORTUNE WHISKEY (J153) B Thompson Jumped only fairly.

Near the 800 Metres blundered.

Horse No 10 FLOOF (H432) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start and became unbalanced.

From the 700 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 MY FLYING ANGEL (J174) A Badel Bumped at the start.

After the race, A Badel stated that his mount, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley from a wide barrier, did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding" track conditions.
