Californiatotality overhauled Laugh Tale in the closing stages after chasing the leading pair for a second straight win over the 1,600m from eight starts. He has really come into his own now and can head higher. Laugh Tale found one too good but stayed on for second after working to the lead 250m out. He is a winner waiting to happen. Can't Go Wong stayed on nicely to take third after settling wide in midfield. It was another good run back up in Class Four following a win. Volcanic Spark ran on steadily after settling one off the fence in worse than midfield but just missed a placing. He continues to race well in two of three starts following a win. G Liner gradually faded after dictating the run from gate five. The switch in surfaces did not pan out after making all twice on the dirt course. Aestheticism made good ground late near the inside to finish next best after making his run out back from gate 14. Mister Dapper made some ground without threatening after settling wide with cover behind midfield.

Race Nine : (567) - PLANTATION HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters

Horse No 1 AESTHETICISM (H289) Z Purton From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

From the 500 Metres until the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when it improved into a narrow run between TIGER AND GOLD and STORM WINNER.

Near the 150 Metres was briefly held up behind CELTIC TIMES and was shifted to that runner's inside to obtain clear running.

Near the 50 Metres shifted in and made contact with FIGHT TIME.

Horse No 2 LAUGH TALE (G406) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342) M L Yeung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 6 G LINER (H072) Y L Chung Approaching the 100 Metres lay out towards LAUGH TALE, resulting in its rider Apprentice Y L Chung having to correct his mount to avoid the heels of LAUGH TALE.

From the 900 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.

Horse No 9 STORM WINNER (J069) H Bentley In the early part of the Home Straight lay in and for a short distance after the 300 Metres H Bentley dropped his left rein as he was correcting his mount.

Horse No 10 TIGER AND GOLD (J064) B Thompson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 11 CELTIC TIMES (G230) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan reported that his mount was not suited by the track conditions which, whilst still rated as "Good" had effects of some rain which had fallen during the meeting.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 FIGHT TIME (H409) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly, shifted out abruptly, made heavy contact with PING HAI COMET and became badly unbalanced.

Horse No 13 SUPER WISE DRAGON (G475) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped by LAUGH TALE.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount was not suited by the track conditions which, whilst still rated as "Good" had effects of some rain which had fallen during the meeting.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer"which had previously been reported.
