Race Seven : (565) - THE SPRINT CUP - Class G2 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 LUCKY SWEYNESSE (G180) H Bowman Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded between WHIZZ KID and INVINCIBLE SAGE.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 LUCKY WITH YOU (E356) A Atzeni After the race, A Atzeni reported that his mount did not stretch out fully on the surface which, whilst still rated as "Good" had effects of some rain which had fallen during the meeting.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE (H093) B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 DUKE WAI (C188) M Chadwick Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Was left racing wide and without cover from approaching the 600 Metres.
Horse No 5 FLYING ACE (G045) Z Purton From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 6 ADIOS (G338) K De Melo On jumping was bumped by DUKE WAI which shifted out.
Was eased down from the event from the Home Turn and went amiss near the 300 Metres.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ADIOS had bled from both nostrils.
Samples were taken from the horse.
Horse No 7 WHIZZ KID (E392) H Bentley Raced wide and without cover until approaching the 600 Metres where it was able to obtain a position outside the lead.
Horse No 8 INVINCIBLE SAGE (H301) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 PACKING TREADMILL (G161) L Hewitson A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 TOMODACHI KOKOROE (H303) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan reported that his mount travelled keenly in the event and was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.

Favourite Lucky Sweynesse ran on nicely to score geared down after claiming Invincible Sage 70m out for a 16th win from 24 starts. Invincible Sage would not go down without a fight after moving to the lead near the 200m. It was a good run in defeat giving the winner 19 pounds in the handicap. Flying Ace dashed well for third after he was ridden cold from the widest draw. He rarely produces a bad run over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Howdeepisyourlove got going late for fourth after biding his time in second last from an outside draw. It was a pleasing run after a last-start win in an easier grade. Packing Treadmill just held his ground after a prominent run one off the fence to finish next best without threatening the top four. He is not Group level material. Whizz Kid faded after briefly finding the front 300m out. He is a 1,000m specialist. Punted late, Nervous Witness had nothing to offer when push came to shove after dictating most of the race from gate nine.
