Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (491) - NGA TSIN WAI HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 FLYING HIGH (E204) M Chadwick When questioned regarding his riding over the final 300 Metres, M Chadwick stated that his mount races best when being held up for a final sprint.
He said after following GRACIOUS EXPRESS into the race near the 200 Metres, he placed FLYING HIGH under full pressure, however, carrying top weight today, his mount did not quicken, particularly on a track, whilst still rated "Good?? had some give in it.
Horse No 2 HEROIC MASTER (G394) H Bowman On jumping bumped with VIVA CHALEUR and then was steadied when crowded between VIVA CHALEUR and PRINCE OF PORTY.
Horse No 3 VIVA CHALEUR (G368) A Hamelin A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 STELLAR EXPRESS (J186) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 SPARKLING KNIGHT (C201) K H Chan Jumped awkwardly and made contact with CALIFORNIA TOUCH.
Then shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of CHEVAL VALIANT.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 BABY CRYSTAL (H081) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 GRACIOUS EXPRESS (J188) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded between BABY CRYSTAL and FLYING HIGH which shifted out slightly.
For a short distance approaching the 300 Metres was held up behind BABY CRYSTAL.
Horse No 8 JAMES TAK (J007) C L Chau Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 ATOMIC ENERGY (H150) Y L Chung Approaching the 150 Metres was steadied when positioned close to CALIFORNIA TOUCH which was giving ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly, was bumped and became unbalanced.
Horse No 11 CHEVAL VALIANT (E336) B Thompson Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
Horse No 12 CALIFORNIA TOUCH (J051) M L Yeung Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced.
Horse No 13 PRINCE OF PORTY (H009) A Badel Crowded at the start.
Horse No 14 RUBYLOT (H412) K Teetan Badly crowded at the start by ATOMIC ENERGY which shifted out.
Approaching the 100 Metres lay out and was awkwardly placed to the inside of HEROIC MASTER when that runner shifted in to obtain clear running.

Baby Crystal kept up a strong gallop after cruising to the lead 300m following a speed-cashing run near the stands side for a third win from 14 starts. James Tak ran on nicely to finish a close second after a midfield run on the grandstand side. It was a good run despite a rise in class after a second win from three prior starts. Favourite Stellar Express ran on steadily for third without threatening the top two travelling just worse than midfield in the center of the track. He's run well in both starts. Gracious Express stayed on well for fourth from better than midfield. It was an encouraging first start in Hong Kong. Flying High ran on steadily to finish next best after making his run behind midfield on the grandstand side. He rarely produces a bad run over this trip. Heroic Master made good ground late near the outside but gave them too much of a head start travelling second last after getting squeezed out at the jump. Plunged late Prince Of Porty ran on without ever looking a threat settling fourth last near the far side.
