Racing Incident Report
Race One : (307) - LARK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 GOLDEN LONG (H462) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was steadied away from TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR which shifted out.
Near the 1000 Metres was steadied.
After the race, M Chadwick stated that after striking interference near the 1000 Metres his mount, once balanced, found the line only fairly, but he was not too disappointed with the performance of the horse given that it was having its second race start tonight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 KING ECCELLENTE (G264) K Teetan Near the 1000 Metres was crowded.
Briefly crowded near the 100 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR (H430) C L Chau Bumped shortly after the start.
Near the 1000 Metres was checked and taken wider.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 BEAUTY INFINITY (H377) A Atzeni Near the 1000 Metres was steadied.
Near the 100 Metres shifted in before being corrected by its rider A Atzeni.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 HAPPY FEELING (H443) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 8 SPICY SO SMART (G203) H Bentley When questioned, H Bentley stated that he felt his saddle slipped back slightly as the start was effected and near the 1000 Metres SPICY SO SMART commenced to buck, became badly unbalanced and was eased out of the event.
As SPICY SO SMART has offended previously in a similar manner, Trainer P C Ng was advised that it will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a series of consecutive barrier trials utilising raceday gear and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
He was further advised that SPICY SO SMART must be ridden by a senior jockey.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 ACE TALENT (H046) L Hewitson Near the 1000 Metres was checked.
Hung out on the Home Turn and near the 300 Metres was steadied away from GOLDEN LONG.
Continued to hang out in the Home Straight.
The performance of ACE TALENT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, ACE TALENT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Horse No 7 LADY BILLIE (H365) A Badel Withdrawn on 2.1.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore).
Before being allowed to race again, LADY BILLIE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After a prominent run, Beauty Infinity reeled in King Eccellente near the 100m for a maiden win at his second start. He lived up to an eye-catching debut effort last month and there's clearly more to come from the son of Toronado. Following a speed-chasing run on the fence from gate four, King Eccellente found a nice one too good after working to the lead 200m out. He's a winner waiting to happen on his past two starts over this Valley trip. Happy Feeling came from near last to place without threatening the top two. It was his best effort from three starts following a gear change. Early favourite Golden Long ran on steadily without threatening after travelling third last in the compact eight-horse field. He couldn't cope carrying top weight following a smart debut win but it's still early days. Triumphant Warrior came from last after getting hampered under the 1,000m to finish next best. He had an excuse. Super Axiom didn't get the trip after leading by five lengths at one point. Early leader Spicy So Smart caused interference to several rivals after taking an awkward step and retreating badly 1,000m out.
