Horse No 2 ROYAL PRIDE (E351) C Y Ho Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 3 TRAVEL GOLF (H063) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 FLYING PHANTOM (J086) A Badel Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 5 LUCKY SYMPHONY (J089) A Atzeni After the race, A Atzeni could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 850 Metres shifted in when racing greenly and was steadied away from SHINKANSEN.

Horse No 8 MY INTELLIGENT (G031) L Hewitson Between the 300 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running behind COLONEL.

After a rails run in midfield, Shinkansen took control 50m out for a first win at his ninth start. He was building towards a win in three other course and distance runs this term. Following a one-out, one-back run, Travel Golf found one too good after poking his head in front 150m out. It was another honest effort over the Valley's 1,200m. Well-backed Colonel grudgingly gave way after easily finding the front as expected from gate 10. He makes his own luck in front and does appear from his past two starts to be on the verge of a win. Happy Soul ran on nicely to fill the frame after a patient ride one from the rear. He appears to be back on track from his past two starts. Royal Pride ran on steadily after a rails run behind midfield to finish next best. He went a shade better on his past few runs. Late-fancied favourite My Intelligent didn't find much when push came to shove after a box-seat run. He's not reliable. After getting caught wide early on in midfield, Flying Phantom never let down. Newcomer Lucky Symphony was stopping 200m out after going forward three deep to chase the leader.
