Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (309) - MESIA HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 BIG TWO (E310) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded shortly after.
In the early stages raced keenly.
Had difficulty obtaining clear running near the 250 Metres when positioned behind JOYFUL CHAMPION.
Approaching the 200 Metres was crowded for room between ONE HEART ONE (L Hewitson) and JOYFUL CHAMPION (M F Poon), both of which shifted ground.
A short distance later then shifted in and away from ONE HEART ONE slightly, made contact with JOYFUL CHAMPION and became badly unbalanced.
L Hewitson and M F Poon were both advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 2 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) M Chadwick Near the 1500 Metres made contact with HANG'S CHOICE when holding its position one-off the rail.
Approaching the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind BIG TWO.
For some distance near the 150 Metres again had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind JOYFUL CHAMPION.
Horse No 3 ASIAN ONE (E400) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
Horse No 5 CORDYCEPS ONE (E107) C Y Ho Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 REGENCY HAPPY STAR (H248) Y L Chung Made contact with a rail on entering the track, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
When caught wide without cover in the early stages was allowed to stride forward leaving the 1100 Metres to hold a position in the lead.
After the race, Apprentice Y L Chung stated that when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to make use of his mount to go forward and then when MISTER ARM held its position to his inside along the Back Straight, he was obliged to make additional use of REGENCY HAPPY STAR and as a result it was left without a finishing effort.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 HAPPY JAI JAI (E069) C L Chau Near the 1200 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from CORDYCEPS ONE.
After the race, C L Chau stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover and consequently did not finish the race off strongly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of HAPPY JAI JAI was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY JAI JAI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 8 ONE HEART ONE (H004) L Hewitson Near the 150 Metres was bumped by MEDIC ELITE.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 MEDIC ELITE (G129) A Badel Near the 150 Metres was bumped by ONE HEART ONE.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 HANG'S CHOICE (E311) K Teetan Bumped shortly after the start.
Bumped TACTICAL COMMAND near the 1500 Metres.
Near the 350 Metres was checked when crowded between MEDIC ELITE and HAPPY JAI JAI which was taken out by ONE HEART ONE (L Hewitson).
L Hewitson was severely reprimanded.
Horse No 11 MISTER ARM (D491) H T Mo Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 12 JOYFUL CHAMPION (G072) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly and was bumped.
Near the 150 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced.

Following a quick start from gate nine, Cordyceps One settled one off the fence better than midfield and just held on after rushing to the front 200m out. It was his first win in 555 days but he had been around the mark in three Class Five starts this season. Punted late, Medic Elite came from last to finish a close second. He's as honest as the day is long. Favourite One Heart One ran on well for third after easing back to travel one off the fence behind midfield. He's not far off a winning run after two pleasing efforts over the Valley's 1,650m. Following a patient ride three from the rear, Big Two copped a stiff bump 150m out but ran on well with three wider out. It was a better run following a downgrade. Following a prominent run, Joyful Champion came up one-paced after jostling with Big Two 150m out. He keeps promising without delivering at both tracks this term. Following a sluggish start, Asian One found a spot on the fence in midfield and ran on without threatening. He's in the right grade now. Punted late, Hang's Choice got going in the closing stages after getting held up early and settling towards the rear.
